6 month lay-off

An old & my best training partner had an operation from which it has taken him almost 6 months to fully recover from. He start's back in the gym next week he tell's me. How long before he can get some what near to his best. ( he has lost around  25/30 lbs). Thanks

depends on what kind of surgery your friend had and on how old he is.  anything between 3-12 months, i would say.

defintetly a little while. so don't let him walk in the gym thinking he can do what he was doing before.

Absolutly, he know's the drill. He trained for a decade prior to the surgery. I was really asking for my own selfish self. Would love to him have back as a training partner again.
Man, the sweat would be pissing off me each and every workout & straight afterwards we'd go for a juicy steak.
I hope he's still enthusiastic 'cause lately i havn't been.
A lot more bad day's than good
