Don't forget that our esteemed IFBB leader here Chic hasn't made this much money with the IFBB and he has been in the IFBB longer than Lee in the PDI. Chic must compete for the love of it not the money.
Also, no reason why other IFBB pros won't jump ship especially those who make no money at it. There are more andmore contests coming up and at least they can call themselves a professional BB that makes money. Right now they are pros who make nothing. And actually getting paid for what you do qualifies you as a professional. So even though these guys have a pro card with the IFBB they are not actually pros until they win some money. Right now they are actually paying the IFBB to stay a pro yet will never win money. Man, itmust be great to be an IFBB pro.
Get your facts straight big man...
I won 10K for the Masters...7,500 at the NOC, 6K at the SW pro, 4K at the SOS, 1K at the Arnold...this is purely just from prize money...the majority of what I've made in BB is a DIRECT result of being a Pro BB in the IFBB...numerous contracts, endorsement deals, guest posings, appearancees, seminars, etc....
Lets not start comparing the PDI with the IFBB...they are two different worlds...even Wayne doesn't compare the two, as he has stated many times.
If you want to claim victory merely because the show actually took place...so be it. Given the history of cancelled shows, etc...I suppose it is a victory in some way. The crowd was certainly not a "sell out", at least not in terms of actually selling tickets...as we all know that somewhere between 500-1,000 tickets were given away to fill seats....there also seems to be a lack of sponsorship dollars. Even Wayne isn't stupid enough to bankroll the PDI out of his own pocket if there is no $$ coming in...
Shit...the WBF lasted 2 years...with bigger exposure, bigger purse, guaranteed contracts, better talent, a magazine, and a supplement line....they STILL folded tent.
If they're looking for a nitch market of a nitch market...they could certainly continue. The question is...will it gain support, or lose it given the calliber of competition?
