Sometimes not having competition is not a bad thing. My first contest had a Mr North Vancouver section and no one else enterred from there so I won my first title unopposed! Goodrum has this art down to a science. Trouble was some dude enterred the novices who really should have been in the open division. That happens all the time in bodybuilding because guys would rather win a title than come 3rd in the opens.

That should take care of itself when you cut your calories. Also, you might want to try some kind of herbal/colon cleanser next time you start to cut, it'll get rid of all the gunk that builds up in your intestines and bring in your waistline.

Good question. Promoters always give a mediocre guy a break. In this case he got heaps of publicity via Goodrum.

In Australia, Novice means never placing in a show before but some consider even competing should disqualify a person and I agree. You would think Goodrum was ready to face the music with the big boys but even his brain saw that wasn't going to happen.

Can any of you honestly imagine a former professional wrestler enterring a novice bodybuilding contest?! The guy is a couple of sandwiches short of a picnic. He forgot he enterred before. It happens all the time.

I am not sure how it works in the US, but here you are eligible for the novice class even if you have competed before, if you have never won your class or in some federations if you have never placed in the top 5 in your class.

Basically, if you have competed before but sucked ass but can enter novice. Therefore Vince would qualify due to him being so crappy.

Check any kind of store that sells hippy shit. Or any kind of colon cleanser that you can pick up at Walmart or walgreens or something. Toney Freeman talked about doing colon cleansings every few months to keep his waistline tiny in his second MD article (last months issue I believe, but maybe the one before that). Even when you eat clean, some stuff accumulates in your system and can stay there for months or even years in the case of some of the more highly processed stuff. I know that Irwin Naturals has a cheap cleansing supp. I haven't tried it, so I can't vouch for it personally, but they usually have good quality supps so i have no reason to douobt it.

Yes, I'll definitely get help next time around from Dr Joe or someone who specializes in natural bodybuilding.  I trained twice a day  6 days a week for 8 weeks for this show, practiced posing, and dieted pretty hard.  However, looking good is one thing but a person who looks great onstage will make you look like crap. 

In the meantime, I'll enjoy the time off, get patched up and keep training until next time

You only dieted 8 weeks for this show?? What the hell are you thinking?  Especially if you're natural you're going to need a lot more time than that to even try and achieve coming in decent shape or conditioning.  Heck, even the pros with their medicene chest diet longer than that!  And please don't tell me that you're lean year around so you don't have to diet much.

Some of the guys in the novice class look great,just never placed first before.......they could have been competing for decades and just placing out of the money.

Perhaps I should have taken a day trip and Owned Vince. Afterall, it was only about 70 miles away or so.
