Top Ten Reasons Jay Cutler Beat Melvin Anthony

1. Judges award points for having a big ass.
2. Shoulder:Waist ratio of 1:1 is considered ideal.
3. Judges think conditioning has nothing to do with vascularity or separation.
4. Jay offered to guest pose at judge/promoter's show for free this year.
5. Bigger is better, including jaw, midsection, and joints.
6. Whereas it used to be all about 'the glutes', now it's all about 'the calves'.
7. Judges penalize bodybuilders for having a small waist.
8. Judges miss the old Dorian days where arms take back seat to huge torsos.
9. Manion worried that Melvin's past career as manicurist would harm the 'image' of the 'sport'.
10. All white judging panel feel responsibility to disprove theory of black athlete's dominance in bodybuilding.

We also musn't forget how a physique like Jay's may draw in more mainstream attention, and that graduates of bible college have a long storied history of clubbing baby seals, it's just not good publicity.

na..a new federation where good physiques win the competitions is needed..melvin doesnt need to change anything. Gutler and ruhl and the other wide waist big bellies can have their own freak federation.
