bodybuilding.com could buy HBE, forget about the paper work in a back room some where, and never notice the financial difference!

Thanks for that info Will.

So let me get this straight:

~ Flex tried to take Lee's camera from him, from Lee
~ Flex told bb.com that if they don't stop recording they will pull their booth, from Will
~ Flex threatened to sue Lonnie Teper if he used footage he recorded, from Max_Rep

Lovely ::)

Since when the fuck does Flex decide what others do at the expo??? Monster delusional egotism at play.  This info finally made me decide to do a chargeback on the O webcast after all.  I kept going back and forth on the issue, because I know that enough of them will break a company, but fuck this guy.  I hope his dumb, no character havin ass goes bankrupt.  Flex, you are done in this industry bro.  The fans determine your income, and your EX-fans have all decided that you suck donkey schlong.

Enjoy poverty!!!

Rick - you have a lot of respect in these parts and that's because you keep it real.

If we wanted it sugar-coated, we'd have gone to Lift for his input.  ;)

The customers who were ripped off want HBE to at least acknowledge that there were significant problems with the webcast.  From what we are seeing, however, HBE's idea of 'customer service' is anything but.

Well, here's the deal.  I came across like a jack@ss by criticizing HBE BEFORE I contacted them directly.  I did, they took care of me.  However, others, like Tre and it sounds like others aren't being taken care of.

I was keeping it real based on MY experience...Now hearing what others have experienced...that sux!

Keep it up I guess, I'm honestly not sure what they will actually do.

On the terms of the phone call...try pressing the good ole "0" and ask for some help from the operator....she might transfer your call...?

Anyhow.  I wasn't abducted by aliens and "Sally-fied".  Although, I'm not sure about others ;) ...Lift...I did hear a story about an abduction in Texas....that wasn't you was it?  JK...Hey hope to see you here in FL.

Peace!

Flex would not let us take any video of the expo eithier.  As soon as he say me, he came up and said if I dont stop recording, they were going to pull our booth!

I made a video of the video I did get though!

http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/videos/2006/busrideolympia.wvx

Some pretty sweet video content if you ask me, thanks Flex!

Will

I am curious.

Does Flex Wheeler have the power to pull a companies booth?

I WAS FILIMING ME AND THE FANS FOR MY REALITY AND FLEX THREATEN  TO TAKE MY CAMERA....WHAT A JOKE THIS IS COMING TO.WASN'T FILMING NOTHIN ELSE BUT ME AND HE GETS ALL MAD.

The footage of "Flex" "fighting" is ridiculously funny. Was he going to axe kick your camera if you didn't stop recording? What an authoritative figure he is  ::) I can almost hear him saying "Drop the camera or I'll drop you"
"Flex", what you do, essentially, is spar, that's it. You're not tough. You're one kidney shot away from a reality check.

Since he writes for MD, you would think he's not under contract with Weider or AMI, who put on the Olympia. Wasn't MD also banned, or not given, press passes to the event?
It must have been through HBE, but I still can't see why Flex would have any power over the boothes. Not to mention the fact, that if a booth is pulled, that is lost income that could have been generated. At least, if it were my booth that was pulled, I would cancel the check and make sure that I screwed HBE or AMI-whoever, out of profits.

From now on, I won't buy anything that feature Flex Wheeler

no more MD or whatever magazine he has columns in

I suggest you do the same, it won't make much change but at least you won't be giving him your hard earned money

Flex Wheeler has now responded online.

It was to a polite post made by Myt.

His post:

"Listen Dick, HBE nor I is at fault. Their is a 1- 800 number you can call if you had a problem with the web cast. Coming on this site telling me to be a man is not going to get you anywhere {head bangining smiley}

 The Co. that HBE hired to do the web cast will be making a formal statement when they are done with their investigation. So keep my name out of your mouth until then{"homo" smiley}

Also I don’t care if you respect me or not for I do not respect you!! Nor your posts about me.. BTW My name is Ken Flex Wheeler now you be a man tell me who you are and maybe we can get to know each other a lil better{boxing smiley}"

*He then goes on to quote a post made by Comeback Kid and say [all incorrect with himself] "This is your post is it not?"

I honestly can only give up :-[

It is a very sad reflection of our bodybuilding community that this post came from the president of the company that webcasted our biggest event as his 'first public address' to numerous complaints the company faced.

Edit: see here for post on Md's forums

In his defense, people have continuously said "Flex this, Flex that" since the Olympia webcast debacle.  He's taken a beating online and I'm sure he's fed up with it (which is obvious, based on the quoted message CQ provided).  Flex has been named several more times than the company, HBE, has.

The problem is that Flex was set up to be the fall guy by his superiors and he's being asked to answer questions that he simply does not have enough information for.  There are two crucial things he (personally) does not know:

1) what went wrong with the webcast
2) what HBE intends to do about it

Unless he's the company's spokesman, then he should not be asked to handle these questions.  I know he's the President/Industry Liaison, but that doesn't mean he's in the PR department.

If they don't have an 'Internet Spokesman', they should look into hiring one.  These guys are usually very affordable, but could save the company countless headaches and dollars through some simple damage control.

You read me wrong.  HBE should definitely be held accountable for their failure to deliver the advertised product.  I'm just saying that you can't point the finger only at one man, especially when he's not even responsible for the technical side of his company's house.

Since they've made no public statement and issued no apology at all, people are well within their rights to assume the worst about HBE, but that's an entire company, not just one individual.

Why's Flex acting like he hasn't heard anything about this?  At least his response (2nd one ;D) is civil.
