In his defense, people have continuously said "Flex this, Flex that" since the Olympia webcast debacle. He's taken a beating online and I'm sure he's fed up with it (which is obvious, based on the quoted message CQ provided). Flex has been named several more times than the company, HBE, has.
The problem is that Flex was set up to be the fall guy by his superiors and he's being asked to answer questions that he simply does not have enough information for. There are two crucial things he (personally) does not know:
1) what went wrong with the webcast
2) what HBE intends to do about it
Unless he's the company's spokesman, then he should not be asked to handle these questions. I know he's the President/Industry Liaison, but that doesn't mean he's in the PR department.
If they don't have an 'Internet Spokesman', they should look into hiring one. These guys are usually very affordable, but could save the company countless headaches and dollars through some simple damage control.
