By the way I did wrestle Cleve one time before in Beverly Hills. He destroyed me but it was funny. It was my frst tournament after quitting before. They asked me to enter the first Over The Top event in BH. So I did just to do it and got destroyed. It was then I decided to start training again and enter the Denver event and took first after beating Mike Shaddock from New York and John Brezenk. That is how I qualified for the finals in Vegas

aas to your question yes cleve is going. and as for your knowledge of the sport you dont have a clue cleve came out of retirement and claimed the nationals and worlds. the difference in you and cleve if you did put your shoulder on your arm it is a foul you lose to a man totally out of shape at the time i was there my armwrestling coach was the final ref for the truck and in the movie. his name is bob rogers. what is your name so i can ask cleve. and as far as travis he will tell you not only cleve but 5 to 6 others have beat him this year alone john berzynk has beat travis everytime they meet. tell me your name if im wrong i will say im sorry but i still think your full of shit.

Dude I haven't followed armwrestling since 1987. The only reason I know who travis is because I do flip the channels and saw it on TV a few times. I did here Cleve lost allot of weight and was down to mid 300's. And the shoulder to the arm was bullshit cause I didn't do it. That was the whole problem. And yes I do believ Cleve was out of shape but even then he is a strong as anyone and he was a 9 time world champ. My name is Keith Jones. I am pretty sure he might not remember me name but describe the match and I am pretty sure he'll remember. I think I remember Bob ROdgers but not sure.

Anyway ask Cleve. If he remembers then I am sure he will tell you the truth and it will match my story. I hope Cleve kicks ass there. It is always nice to make a comeback and I didn't realze he was 52.

He did not win the first one. Please don't try to debate me on this cause you'll lose. He took 2nd place until the last event. I won the Super Heavy in Denver. It was the first event because the Beverly Hills event was not a qualifier it was more of an exhibition tournament to announce the tournament. Even though I beat JohnI did find out later that John took second place on purpose at every Over the Top event till the last one. Once you win you weren't allowed to compete in another one. Frst place paid $1,000 second place paid $500. He took 2nd place in every event in 2 or 3 weight classes on purpose so he could keep competing and make money too. That is the only reason I beat him. John was unreal but at the time I didn't really know who he was cause I never really followed it. I found out that he did that and it took some wind out of my sails but I lke saying I beat him.

I never competed outside of California except for the Denver event and then the Texas one, so I don't know why you are saying New York. Never been there. And like I said on record I didn't beat Cleve but in reality I did and I know it as did everyone else there. So that is a mute issue now. And the above explains John.

Only 1,000 dollars for first place? What kind of "sport" is that?

I told it exactly back a year as I did now. It is exactly howit happened. And I am sure their are pics of it to prove it along with video. good luck finding it. Call Marvin Cohen or get ahold of the staff photgrapher Andrew Gomez. They had dozens of pics of me and I am sure their is video. It was 20 years ago so I lost interest. Cleve was an awesome armwrestler without a doubt and if he does come back at that age and he is lighter then that would be awesome. And I do remember Bob Rodgers. I just got off the phone and my friend who also competed in the Vegas event reminded me about Bob Rodgers. He was a referee is that right? And in fact I think he was the referee in my match against Cleve. Ask him if he remembers the match. If not I will then explain.

Also, somewhere on here I explained why I beat John Brezenk too. I said on here already I found out he purposely threw the matches.

ok maybe i went overboard but it seemed to me you were running cleve down. because he was a serious contender for the part
. i no this much because i have a copy of the first script. im 6 foot 7 350lbs i curl 175 2 sets 6 with my right arm and i have beatin everyone but john and cleve. and cleve is way past his prime and still no one can beat him if he comes in shape. ps i seen and others seen last march cleve curl 225 with his right and 215 with his right. he never really lifted when he was young. just thinking wow what he could of curled at ages 18 to 30.

#1 I wouldn't put down any armwrestler, especially Cleve Dean. Jeez the guy is the recognized armwrestler ever. He made it known worldwide cause of Petaluma. And man you are huge guy. You would have been a sight to see at the table. Everyone used to tell me cause of my style (inside) I would have done very well in Petaluma. And I did consider it but it just didn't pay well and I wasn't a super serious guy about this. I did it for fun and it just so happen to pay off for me. Anyway good luck at the Arnold and now at least if I see armwrestling on the TV again I can look out for someone I know the name of. I really don't know anyone name but Travis and I never met his either.

Loved the old-school 70's/80's arm wrestling...

Cleve was also in 1st two WSM contests. A young Jan Todd in the pic w/ Cleve.
Jan still runs the show for the Arnold Strongman and Rogue events. Great lady.
