One of my mates who is a PT traveled all the way from here (NZ) to the US to attend one of his 3 day workshops. He got a certificate of completion and said it was worth all the money he paid, since his weight is up by 2 kg and his bench has increased by 10 lb in just a week. Now he charges people a bit more than the usual trainer's fee cuz he's got the extra certificate ::)

Some people do have a protruding abdominal wall like that. I.e. a light case of pectus excavatum (which I think Poliquin has or at least had) causes the lower ribs to be flared out, causing the belly to stick out further. But he's still on drugs and a scammer obviously ;D

Poliquin was a pencil neck. I met him with a friend at the campus gym many moons ago as he neared graduation. His 'methods' were nothing new, mainly high volume, high intensity. He talked like a guru back then also, all 155 lbs of him. Supplements this, high intensity that, high volume this. He sounded like a Weider magazine. To get taken seriously in the industry he sauced, and became a guru. You tell me how much his training techniques have actually helped people. Like I said before, he is just a high priced, talking Weider magazine.

There's been a big fight about whether the lifter should shrug in the pull or not. I always think that do whatever gets you a good lift. I see reasons to not get on the toes and get on the toes, and not to shrug and to shrug.
But I think the pull is not a jump at all.

I've been there too, i thought i knew everything and that some skinny trainer couldn't hold a candle to me......but was i wrong, only after i attended some seminars i realised how many exercises i was doing the wrong way - regarding safety ofcourse.......that's the problem with regular gym rats, they think they know everything, big muscles are not hard to build, just train with heavy weights, eat and juice but to build them safely, meaning with little or no harm to your joints, tendoms, paying attention to correct spine alignment by activation of stabilizers etc is another thing....
