He wrote in a magazine that olympic lifters rising on their toes during a pull was a mistake.  How the hell do you jump without rising on your toes?  Ever try to jump flat footed?  Olympic lifters are exploding up with the weight.  That's why they have such impressive vertical leaps and sprinting ability.

Personal trainers with their two week certificates and gurus are such a sham.  Only in the subculture of bodybuilding would such bs be accepted.  I feel sorry for inexperienced men and women going to personal trainers and listening to their nonsense.

Scam and lie. That is what the whole fitness industry is about. It's rotten to the core.

Fucking dolt-  Poliquin.

Romboids downwardly rotate the scapulae.

That exercise sets upward rotation. That's not for romboids.

Also, that exercise is great for anyone who wants to exacerbate their shoulder impingment.

It's the mantra of the fitness business it seems: the weirder your ideas, the more you'll sell.

Weird diets, weird training routines, unnecessarily complicated drug cycles etc.

There's been a big fight about whether the lifter should shrug in the pull or not. I always think that do whatever gets you a good lift. I see reasons to not get on the toes and get on the toes, and not to shrug and to shrug.

But I think the pull is not a jump at all.

you guys are forgeting something - SAFETY! I've been there too, i thought i knew everything and that some skinny trainer couldn't hold a candle to me......but was i wrong, only after i attended some seminars i realised how many exercises i was doing the wrong way - regarding safety ofcourse.......that's the problem with regular gym rats, they think they know everything, big muscles are not hard to build, just train with heavy weights, eat and juice but to build them safely, meaning with little or no harm to your joints, tendoms, paying attention to correct spine alignment by activation of stabilizers etc is another thing....

If you're somewhat passionate about how your body feels when training and keep some basic pointers in mind than safety is not that much of an issue.

What would be the right/wrong way of doing "tricep pushdowns" for example?
Same quesition as above  but in regard to benching bench?

For example half squats on smith machine are dangerous. Half squats in general are dangerous to your knees.
