i called this months ago when some people here were saying he was better than jordan....the playoffs are a different beast and he cant handle the increased physicality, defence and pressure. You simpy cant judge the nba by its regular season, where players dont give a fuck on defence and are more interested in what club they are going to after the game.Only the playoffs matter in the nba.The regular season is just for franchises to make lots of money from ticket sales from meaningless games.

Yes, I now have enough data to say Curry isn't clutch in the playoffs and he often falls short and disappears. He's not better than MJ and never will be. Great one of a kind player though.

In the playoffs the game changes, d tightens up, players are much sharper, the game moves on to isolation play where players can control the shot clock and limit turnovers. No shock why jordan, duncan, durant , dirk, kobe etc excelled in the playoffs.

People keep comparing the touch foul, zero fundamentals, right out of high school, no defense, set shot generation to...
It's getting really old.

People dont understand the game.Scoring more than a 3rd of your teams points in general is counterproductive and kills any offensive flow.Similarly 2 players can average 30 points for a regular season but one of them can literally be twice the player the other is.Jerry stackhouses 30 point season 2000 vs jordans 28 point 1998 season. Its all about having the game in the playoffs whereby the opponents cannot cut off your game, being so skilled there is no drop off from regular season production and even improvement in the best.Every statistical category places jordan at the top.The top most mentioned per, jordan has the top reg season per and top playoff per. This recent video breaks down which playeds imprved most in the playoffs. No shock jordan came out top in the stats.7:35 for the jordan part.

Steph is the most selfless and second most underrated player in the game behind Klay.
Watch and see how the Warriors do better next year when KD leaves and the splash brothers go back to shining together.
-
He’s not even better than Kobe
-
Prime Jordan would ass rape curry and take his soul that lil bitch couldn’t handle the physical play of the 80s and 90 s
-
I’ve never ever heard a comparison to Jordan.
Klay typically D’s up the better player anyways.
Has he changed the game of basketball, absolutely.
-
Watch and see how the Warriors do better next year when KD leaves and the splash brothers go back to shining together.
Durant is their closer. They might be better recordwise because the team he goes to won't be as talented and there won't be a team like them around, but with him they have someone they can give the ball too and score with ease in the clutch.
-
He’s not even better than Kobe
Neither is Lebron

Neither is Lebron
Lebron was better than kobe.Only player thats ever been better than Lebron was Jordan.
-

Negative. More rings, better d, clutch, better scorer, more of an impact player all around. Kobe is better and it's not really debatable.

Its definitely debatable.
Basketball remembers its stars better than reality records them as being.
Two great players but two totally different approaches to the game.

On what planet was kobe a better defender than lebron? On what planet was he more clutch than lebron? On what planet was he more impactful all around?I can provide stats that debunk your nonsense if you wish.Kobe was a great player, but he played in LA where everyone wanted to play and demanded stars like a petulant schoolboy and LA always gave in because he was their star moneymaker.

Young Kobe was an ELITE defender, at one point there was talk that he was going to be a better defender than he was a scorer. Obviously that didn't happen, but at one time he was talked about as the leagues premier lock down specialist.
I know he was a great defender but was Lebron ever considered as that type of player?
I cant argue with your other points.

Kobe was an elite defender, lebron has been runner up for defensive player of the year multiple times, kobe hasnt.Lebron can literally guard 1-5, kobe 1-3.

Lol great points.
I forgot Lebron was an all world defender and if it wasnt for Dwight Howard he would have been DPOY.
Its odd because when players are discussed I think of them as where they are in their career today and in the case of retired players who they were at their peak. That will skew my perspective.

All that needs to be known about LeBron is his 2011 finals vs the Mavs.....
All those superstars on that team can’t even beat a German Dirk 8)

I see your m
Mavericks and offer the Pistons of Detroit.
Kobe, Shaq, Malone and Gary Payton vs Ben Wallace, Rasheed Wallace, Rip Hamilton, Chauncey Billups and Tayshaun Prince.

Mavs run was more impressive, got by the Trail Blazers , defending champs lakers, OKC, take a look at all those teams rosters at the time
And then Miami
All with one superstar in Dirk and a whole aging cast of 30+ year olds who weren’t even supposed to be in the play offs

Literally every superstar ever has bombed out against teams they had a better seed against or had home court against, apart from 1 man, michael jordan, who never lost to an equal or lower seed and never lost with homecourt advantage.Bird, magic, shaq, kobe, lebron, hakeem, curry, durant, isiah, malone, barkley, etc have all lost when they should of won.

Who was the superstar from Detroit on par with Dirk, Ben Wallace? Was Ben a superstar?
That Mavs victory was impressive but there may have not been an actual team that won a championship without a true star like Detroit did.
-

Yeah, he CAN guard 1-5 but when is the last time he actually did it like an elite defender?

Good point my mistake. I missed that point.
They ended the Lakers championship run and beat the young Thunder before beating the Super Heat. That is an impressive run
-
Yeah, he CAN guard 1-5 but when is the last time he actually did it like an elite defender?
That was a terrible argument for Lebron when they used to say it. Whenever he tried to guard the bigger guys (Garnett, etc.) they would get the ball and they would make lay-ups. He can guard them, but not well. Same goes for a lot of players. That's not a knock, but he was way overrated in that aspect. Very few can actually guard all five positions and do it well. Garnett was great at it. Lebron was/is not.

Well its like saying Lebron in 2019 is a better defender than Garnett is in 2019.
Lebron today isnt as good athletically as Lebron in 2011. But Lebron at his peak was almost unmatched. Because Lebron is still playing we, or at least I do, compare his current game to all time great players peak years and that isnt fair.
Compare peak player to peak player or at least compare them at the same points in their respective careers.
-

For sure
How long you reckon LeBron still has in the league, playing at the high level?
I want to say 2-3 years max

Hes 15 years in with 46k regular season minutes played. What hes done, as far as consistency, is unprecedented (for a perimeter based player otherwise Karl Malone had an almost as impressive run with stability).
2-3 years doesn't seem unrealistic. Lebron takes care of his body like no one else.
The idea is that his game, due to his size and strength, would smoothly transfer to the post but that is a level of physicality, even in today's NBA, that can be take its toll on his aged body.
The real question is his body breaking down? This was his first major injury, was it a fluke or the beginning of the end?

Bron is 90% through his prime career, and there will not be a slowly diminishing version of his game on the court. Lakers move looks like a failed experiment. He could've stayed in Cleveland and wound it down but Lakers fans aren't going to have it unless he produces at the highest level.
Half the current game is running back and forth to shoot 3s...even the centers do it. Closest thing to post up ball would be offensive rebounds for all those missed 3s. ;D
The level of defense you see now looks like an All Star game in the 90s. Karl Malone didn't flop or play in this charmin soft era either.

Huh? I'm not quite understanding your point. My point was that at his peak he was not someone who could defend all five positions well. Garnett was one of the players who could so I used him as an example. Lebron was not. Great player but that phrase never applied to him at any point in his career, imo.

Im sorry. Your last sentence in the previous post was Lebron is/was not.
Lebron of today doesnt play defense so including that Lebron in the discussion is worthless.
You argue that Labron wasnt good at handling bigger players, right? Or at least guarding all 5 well, was Garnett really that guy? I dont recall him shutting down point guards at any point or shadowing a teams best perimeter player for an entire game. He did well in spot duty, as Lebron did when switched at times.
Garnett was a better defender than Lebron.
But was he better at guarding perimeter players than Lebron was at guarding post players? I dont think its that big of a difference.
In my opinion, I think because Lebron is still playing we compare his today to everyones best. Lebron at his best was a very good 1-5 defender. Garnett was a better defender at his peak but that also came when he was no longer the offensive focal point in Boston.
I dont know if there has been any one who could guard all 5 well. Garnett is a good choice but Id also include young Rodman.

Exactly, anyone who seriously thinks kobe was a better player than Lebron wasnt a real fan and only went by what the media were saying.Even PEAK Wade was better than Kobe ever was, Kobe was never as good as 2006 and 2009 Wade.

He was also never as good of a defender as Kobe. Kobe also had a more killer instinct and was more impactful in alignment to that take no prisoner mentality.
Anyway, heading to Scotiabank arena now grabbing dinner then Raps game. Goooooo Raps!!!!!

No one ever compared Curry to Jordan. Curry did what I expected. Go his max deal and got lazy. He plays lazy. Sloppy ball handling and passes. He got super rich and stopped playing as hard.
-
Playoff MVP out injured and Curry stepped up twice in the 4th quarters to win the games...hmmmm

Lakers flushed their long term future down the toilet for this clown, who is in LA for movies and lifestyle. We aren't talking Jordan coming back from baseball for a 3-peat. He'll be lucky if he gets to one final in the West, and that will probably be the last year of his deal
