they can do it because they're sauced to the gills and are pretty much idiots with good genetics that just touch weights and grow. They're also hella short. Easy to build mass with any means when your limbs are of midget status. Not hating here, just stating the fact.

And yes, that video of Branch hitting 14 or so reps with 405 on incline is obsenly fast. I was watching for a pec tear with each and every rep.

by training faster, you can use more weight, which will in turn build more strength and mass.

training like that also works the type 1 fibers better, which are for speed and strength.

ever see an olympic lifter train?

sure, with full body movements. Not on those more isolated movements like presses on a bench of any kind. But sure, if you body can handle it... What about "time under tension" for hypertrophy?

Here is something you could try:

-load the bench press bar with the maximum weight it can handle

-get underneath

-get 5 guys to spot it of

-let it drop

Come back to me with the results.

force = mass * velocity
it makes sense to rep as fast as you can, without letting momentum take over or injuring urself.
i don't believe slow repping has done shat for me over the years.

I rep pretty fast too at times. never really thought about it too much.

I have nothing against lifting explosively but if you ever saw JOJ  do barbell curls with 225 you would agree that the line between working the muscle and cheating your way through the entire movement has been crossed. However I will say that it doesn't seem to hurt his development.

that moron claims he can curl 245 for 8-10, hahahahaha, even Bill Kazmaier couldn't do that and Bill makes JOJ look like an underfed Brad Pitt.

Is it THAT sloppy?

He does this in his Next Level DVD, someone on here probably has a clip. Let's put it this way, if you grabbed a barbell with the same grip you would normally use for curls, and then proceeded to do a hang clean, you would pretty much mimick Johnnie's form.

i'm sure bill could do that.

years ago, i read about lee priest saying his best curl was a few reps with 315.

Ive tried to apply that same speed and intensity to my own personal training, and have really noticed the benefits. If youve ever seen the battle for the olympia video 05, branch and johnnie kill off a thourough chest workout in about 30 mins.  They still manage to use strict form too!

actually warren does some fast reps because of the weight being heavy.today i tried to do lift warren and joj style in my shoulder workout and believe me if you are lifting heavy weight and if you do fast reps the weight you are lifting actually appears to be light because wat you want to do at that point is to lift that weight and fast pace actually makes it easy to lift heavy weight.i have tried to do full reps but in the end it is of no use.you strain alot on your joints and there is possibilty of getting injured if you are trying to get full contractions. i think so warren and johnnie are pro bodybuilders and wat ever they do its right

epic justification for using weight that you're not big or strong enough to handle.

dude joj and warren are pro bodybuilders and they know wat they can handle.they both are strong as hell and they are lifting to get big and thats wat important to them..the way the lift is a bit different..who said warren and johnnie cannot handle heavy weight..they just lift the weight their own way

Sometimes not locking out on the bench can keep the weight on the pecs and not the triceps and shoulders. It isn't that bad what he did. Those guys were the biggest guys I have ever seen I think though. Did anyone else notice they all looked kinda the same in those clips  :-\?

I guess what I meant was overall shapes. They were all big and you are probably right about warren and james, but, it just seemed to me there were no differences in the shape of each guy. Mind you they were covered in sweats, so maybe I am being weird here.

Yeah, it's pretty tough to "train quick and intense" with 1/4 to 1/2 range reps and unneccessary grunting......they're inspirational.   If you wanna give credit to something/someone for the bb's fantastic physical achievements go kiss each bb's parents and each bb's syringes.

You gotta give them props for training with heavy ass weights. I heard that Johnnie Jackson does very little in terms of "pharmaceuticals". I think its from Ron Harris.

why don't you show what doing the proper form has done for your body. Maybe they will take notes
