The story of the year has to be Cutler dethroning Coleman, however Heath makes a strong case for his two victories in his first two IFBB shows.
Most improved - Toss up between Freeman and Anthony. I'd give the nod to Melvin for cracking the top 5 at the Olympia. Toney won his first show but winning the Europa isn't quite as impressive as hanging with the top 5 in the Olympia.
But Freeman won the most improved award at the Olympia -TRUE STORY - so you may have to give him the nod! The Impressive feat was placing at a record tying 7th place joining < lee haney > for his first appearance. That is good company. Lee Haney even gave him the nod at the show at the impressive feat.... Melvin looked fantastic - mid section was amazing - Great competitor. However we expect this from melvin - alot of people did not expected Freeman to crack the 10 ten -Another sad but TRUE STORY
My vote is : Ronnie Coleman for Losing his crown and still competiting and showing it is about competing and not winning . He did not storm off and pout.
I do not know if any other competitors could of done that and Jay Cutler for beating him and then going on the Road - So I would say they should share it -
Rookie of the Year : Phill Heath - Showing his debut powers against season pros Charles and James and besting Olympian 's like David Henry. In 2007 his look and condition will be a favorite.
