You guys, this is rather simple-Al Gore is rich as fuck, he has a crew of secret service traveling with him like a circus, how would you expect him to live? In a 2 bed condo driving a prius? He's supposed to live it up, thats supposedly the capitalistic incentive to working hard right? Work hard make money live it up. He's championing a good cause, why knock him? Theres a lot of shit in teh air and it's getting worse, at least he's saying something about it and trying to get a movement going. I hope he runs, if he does maybe he will be elected prez and have the power to pressure the rest of the world (think india and china) to also do something about our pollution levels. I think global warming is just a way to say over pollution, and you have to admit something DOES need to be done.

Oh yes, that would be fantastic, then he can sleep on a bed of burning brown coal while the rest of the world is living in huts and 'holding them in'.

Sounds wonderful.

Is there a human being with as much global influence, experience and knowledge as Al Gore, who is championing the cause of Global Warming?

No.

Would he be as effective for changes on the macro level (IE: convincing 500 million people to change habits) if he lived in a hut and rode a bicycle?

No.

Al Gore shows that however you live, you can do a lot to save energy.

Light bulbs, energy windows, hybrid cars, green energy...

Lots of things you can do without living like a caveman.

But not even close to enough if you want to 'save the world'.

It never fails... In the end another person who resorts to attacking my modding in the middle of a political debate... It seems like I can't have an opinion unless i've exibited myself to be politically neutral  ::)  Another case of my mod status being held over my head...

Part of being Mod dude. I mean I know how glorious it must be and I am sure the chicks dig it when you share it at the comic book conventions, but if you can't be neutral, you shouldn't be a mod. Just yesterday a couple hours were spent trying to say this board isn't liberal biased and yet the mod admits he isn't neutral. I say we impeach, we were lied to
