right...like i work with 255 and thats for like 8...now i figured that on average...for those basic lifts...pros do like 100lbs-150lbs more than me.....but dude..400lbs more. Dude makes me question everything he ever says

Haha Jessy Marunde did 405 for 20 reps and now this clown claims he can do it for 40 reps.  ::)

Why do these people lie about their poundages?

255 for 8 is phenomenal for seated shoulder presses if you're lowering the bar below your chin, believe me that's more weight than you see being handled on that movement in 95 percent of gyms, i gaurantee you most pro bb'ers don't go much heavier than that outside of the Smith Machine.

No worries.

I can never understand why someone who is obviously extremely strong has to inflate their lifts.  If he had of said he did 20 reps with 315 and 15 with 405 (which is probably closer to the truth) it is still heavier than your average gym user.

The sad thing was it wasn't in an ad, it was an interview, which I take as a bit more credible.

Here's what his workout would look like

Squat

135 X 20 reps
225 X 20 reps
315 X 40 reps
405 X 40 reps
315 X 40 reps

RIDICULOUS!!!

For perspecitve, here's Steve Kuclo doing 405lbs for 20 reps:

Kucio's squat is great!!!

dude platz did 495 for 23 and there are guys who can bench 405 for 20+. a 4 plate squat for 20 is really impressive but certainly not WSM champion level. hell marunde can behind the neck jerk 495.

that said, 405x40 for a guy who has two knee braces? no way.

Remember that Platz was in a suit and with wraps and belt. Although it were the old goldline wraps and the Marathon suit (awesome suit to squat in), it still helped.

he definitely wasn't in wraps, just something around his left thigh. and i'm willing to bet it was just a singlet.

I stand corrected. I watched the clip, and it does look like a singlet.

And no, no wraps either.

I have done 405 for 15 slow, deep, close stance reps (shoulder width) at 215 natural with just a belt...no wraps or anything...no spotters...in a challenge with another guy who could squat pretty good too...he did 14. 8) I promptly puked my guts up afterwards. I also have competed and won several national level power lifting competitions and Stone Cold has not...a wrestler does not train for power lifting, so I am highly skeptical of this. Do I think he is probaly strong and could kick sopme serious ass in real life outside of the ring...yes. Just as it would be silly for one of us to say we could wrestle him with no training, it is silly for him to say that he could do this kind of thing without training exclusively for it.
