about 5 years ago i had to rip into a little young "personal trainer" geek in the gym, i was doinf my last set of db inclines and was struggling on the last rep and he came over and looked like he wanted to help me wit the last rep and i told him after i put the weights back to stay the fucck away from me unless i ask him for help and then told him to get out of my face.

next time just let him help you and just let go of the dumbell completely about half way up and watch him try to catch it.

I hate it when they try to spot you but they help to much.

One time I was doing weighted chins while i was waiting for my buddy and one of the overly tanned trainers called "luke" ran over and started spotting me (without even asking

) and instead of standing behind and just touching my shoes at the end of the rep he was trying to lift me from the front like he was doing a ballet lift on me!

Most of these "guys" with ILS only train back on the fancy machines, no raw barbell work anymore.

Hahahaha yes Mars, and when they see us doing deads they probably say "look at those guys stuck in the ironage" and then they go and do some lat pull downs in the womens area with gloves and straps on haha

Some classic stuff in this thread and yes I can relate. When I started training in my late teens I would get the occassional gym trainer that would give unsolicited advice, but once I was lightyears ahead of all the trainers all that "advice" stopped. Today I'll get an old burnt about once a year that randomly approaches me and talks my ear off about training and how he "used to do" this or that. Other than that I'm left alone, but I'll talk to anyone.
