Again I really truly think you don't understand some things. Because Tiger says he'll be first in line means he know people who are using. I think you are saying you think he means other golfers. Please tell us which ones are all of a sudden 400 yard. This will make the whole discussion shorter. Why would you take steroids in golf. To look better as you walk down the fairway? Or maybe to hit the ball farther? Which I would say is really the only reason to take them. They won't help you read a putt, hit out of a sand trap, line up a ball better, chip the ball any better. What does taking steroids do to help you play golf. And the only reason he would say go ahead and test us in golf is to prove to the world they aren't using them. Answer the simple question, what advantage does taking them offer? Unlike other sports, where, strength, power, speed, endurance are major parts of the puzzle for success, none of these help you play golf. Hitting a ball 400 yards means nothing. It's getting in the hole. And I just don't see where roids helps you get it in the hole. If there is please tell me.
Its about swing speed...Its about strength out of the rough esp. in majors where the rough can break your wrists...And of course its about stamina...These guys aren't driving around in carts all day long...They are walking up and down hills out in 90 degree sun 4 days in a row with 100% concentration needed...You don't think that takes its toll on the body...
Now to be a golfer, that means you are literally the best of the best...Their are millions of golfers out there..And these 200 or so that can call themselves pros are so even when it comes to their ability is silly...Of course you have a handful like tiger who are even a notch up from the rest of them(but so slightly)...If you don't believe that as you age, you lose swing speed then i guess their really is no going on from here...And if you really don't believe that length and strength mean anything in the golf game then why is it that golf balls are going further and further every year?...Everyone in the business is saying the balls are going to far that that they need to put a cap on how far the ball will go... Why do you think its so hard for a man in his forties to win on the regular tour?.But when they go to the senior tour, they reguvinate their career and the wins start coming...Its because of strength and length...
Why do you think they want to cap the golf ball? I'll answer that for ya...Its because it makes courses play to short....Do you want to know what else makes them play shorter besides equipment?.Its swing speed...
Now for most of the millions that play the game. Muscles and weight lifting type strength mean nothing and will not help you one bit....But when you take 200 of the best of the best and all the equipment is the same, and their abilities are so very close....Just what do you think helps on the course...Its strength and of course swing speed...That gets you the length which puts a shorter club in your hands which makes it that much easier to convert to birdies...
Every single golfer out there is trying to add length to their game...Including just about every pro...Pro men and women are now adding fitness training to help with their golf game...If anything that you have been saying is true...Why would anyone that played golf be working out 1 hour to 3 hours a day in the weight room if it really didn't matter?...And why on earth would the #1 player in the game be doing some bodybuilding type workouts if it really didn't help?
Are you saying that Tiger is just trying to look good walking down the fairway?I find that hard to believe...Like any other sport out there where strength is used, you will find people that are going to try to get an edge...Have you seen Phil Mickelson's massage therapist? This guy was massaging phil's wrist during the practice round and let me just say the guy was sport 20 plus inch biceps...No doubt this guy is full of hormones and you can bet that he isn't there just to rub down Phil...These guys are for sure talking "supplements"...
The art of hitting a golfball is almost identicle to hitting a baseball...Now Hank Aaron and the rest of the guys from way back probably didn't use steroids to hit a ball...And they still did very well...With that said. Why would so many guys in baseball today take steroids to hit a ball? Of course its been proven that its not needed but Jose Canseco made it very clear in his book why he and these guys are doing so...
Its not like steroids are going to make an ave. golfer better just as its not like steroids are going to make an average baseball player better...But when all things are equal and some are using, their is no doubt that hormones could benefit a golfer as they do baseball players..
