THAT...is a crock of shit.
I pay close to $10,000 per year for my health care...If I can do it, why can't everyone.
Address this, for a change:
Eliminate:
cigarettes
alcohol
illicit drug use
Junk food
obesity
sedintarianism
all other bad things people do toi eliminate good health, and...
Not only would you eliminate about half the fed health care deficit, you'd have enough left to give everyone a hundred spot...including liiegals...
But you NEVER hear anyone address such topics of self-responsibility.
this is why your country is crap. yeah ok let that poor family with a downs syndrome kid fend for itself...let that person who was born without legs sort himself out...let that entire community who cant read organise themselves and it's their own fault they are the way they are...
yeah, people love to live destitute, unemployed and sick and then they get crapped on by people like yourself.
hey, in fact let's make it easy for these poor souls to get hold of guns and ammo...then they can look after themselves and make some cash selling drugs and robbing people..at least they are taking responsibility, right?
a civilised society provides the infrastructure, policies, funding and expertise so a community as a whole raises the bar. The standard of living is based on the lowest level.
If the rest of the world adopted the "dog eat dog" approach and the same socio-economic structure as the US then the US probably wouldnt be the super power it is.
you spend lots of $ on defence because it gives power to rule, and with that comes the need to be able to defend...lotsa $ on other streams of revenue other countries refuse to entertain.
and you pay big $ on health insurance because you havea society that thinks it's their right to take risks even at the expense of others..couple that with a poor social welfare and then you mix in those desperate, willing and able to do what they have to to survive.
oh yeah- that's the life. i couodnt wait to get out of the place -everytime ive been there. i expected something really impressive and was amazed at how poor the facilities were/are and the standard of living of the general populous- even in "affluent" areas.
i think it would do alot of US citizens good if they could travel OS to, say a commonwealth country for comparison. I'd say they'd be very surprised to see how modern, safe and organised they are and although they are there, very little in terms of desperate poverty with a social system that really does provide not only basic requirements but also opportunity.
what really craps me about the US is that everyone expects to be "tipped".. i mean wtf!!?...why cant your employer pay you the correct amount?..so dont give me BS about low taxes and stuff...you end up paying for it by other means and still dont get the services and security and education that even the romans had.
