... Why do we feel the need to TRAUMATIZE our muscles to make them BIGGER, in order to gain ADMIRATION from males and females to gratify our own EGO ? .......WHY keeping our bodies filled with exogenous substances in order to force the human body to achieve something he was not designed for ? .....WHY FUCK SO MUCH AND HARD with our body's natural ballance and natural forces within and masquerading it as a health quest ??This is a serious question that needs some introspection as well as some knowledge of the soul/ego part of it , as well as bodybuilding knowledge ?
Good question.I think it might be because we are striving for an unattainable masculine ideal which we perceive as being missing from our lives. On a behavioural level it could be a lack of love and affection received in childhood - especially from our fathers. On a scientific/biological level, it may be because we all have a natural testosterone imbalance which makes us want to be superhuman.Who knows?

You answered your own question. It's the ego, that's all.Underlying is of course the only motive that really drives us: we want to be happy and loved.
Propagation of DNA. That's all. 'Happiness' and being 'loved' are merely means to that end.
Reductionist.
When have I denied that I am a reductionist? I have not; I am a reductionist.
I know, I know, I was just messing with ya.
Deicide speilt den zornigen Tuerken: Hey, Alta, willst Du Dich mit mir anlegen? Isch mache Disch fertisch!
Perhaps, but the older I get, the more I realize that everything(!) we do is driven by biology.
bodybuilding is the illusion of the alpha male (and alpha bitch), a throwback to the beginnings of civilization when the physical was of primary importance, and a narcissistic quest to become cartoonlike, ever striving for perfection in a culture that glorifies youth...sexual desirablity is a measure of worth and a commercial marketing tool that becomes a means to an end, and the end justifies the means.
kinda what I said, but mine used more flowery language
And what exactly would make you come to that conclusion?
Hmm. Probably becasue whatever we say or do is irrelevant; the species must propagate and continue...and it does. It's nice to think we are at the top of the food chain and all intellectual and stuff, but we are just another animal on this planet driven by the same propelling need to reproduce as the next.
If procreation is what is necessary for our species to continue, wouldn't it be more appropriate then to say that procreation is the means and we are the end, not the other way round? Yes we are animals but quite obviously by recognizing that we are (something an animal is not capable of), we are also more than that.
No. I see what you're saying (and I'm really not getting into metaphysicality this early) but that's just vanity.
