I always here these "personal trainers" giving the shittiest advice at the gym. Now these are the guys that are eating an Arby's sandwich while they're training someone. Some dude litteraly was holding a styrofoam container of deep fried soul food munching away while he "trained" his client. Some of the things I hear them say is absurd.
I heard this one trainer tell this chunky girl that she needs to take in about 6-8 scoops of protein a day along with her regular meals. I just had to laugh under my breath. This poor girl was already probably eating more calories than she needs yet is being told to injest about 150 extra grams of protein. She barely touched any weights either.
I usually want to correct them and jump in but I don't want to make enemies at the gym with the staff. I don't have many gym options in my area so getting black listed wouldn't be a smart move.
this actually works. they have enough protein that they can't eat much else. (bad food especially)
and then they start to see an initial drop in weight, and kickstarts a bit of self-motivation.
granted, they have to have a good clean whey or isolate...no MUSCLE MILK bullshit..
and take the shakes in water or skim milk...
i've seen it done before.
eventually limit it to 4 scoops a day (2shakes) with 4 meals move on to a less powdered diet.

it's common sense.. fat people love milkshakes. protein shakes taste good, and get better every year. mostly fat free and carb free.
