Ignoring genetics, a good physique is more related to consistency in training and diet than going heavy all the time.

Just one man's opinion.

i guess you feel threatened by slaveboy and ur in some kind of defense mechanism mode

no i just find you incredibly boring. you come here preaching about a training method thats been known since the dawn of time like you found the holy grail and at the same time claim its the only way to train. and you repeat that over and over and over again in hundreds of posts. give it a rest. go train dennis wolf and put milos outta business because he obviously doesnt know anything and you know everything. im sure dennis would pay you instead.
and when youre done with that, you can tell mark dugdale to stop training like dorian and start training like you and you two guys can posedown in the lockerroom and battle it out.

because a 365 pound squatter saying that a 900 pound squatter isn't training as hard as someone doing 50-60 percent of max for 15 reps needs to be confronted. :D

your talking against yourself in that post. make up your mind.

you simply cant handle the truth.

and ask dorian about the need of progressively lifting heavier weights and let me know what he says.  :D

i know the truth. you dont. you claim ONE method is all there is. we know thats false.

dorian probably did full stack of leg extensions within his first years of training. and at the top of his career in blood n guts he move the exact same weight.

so much for progressively lifting heavier weights.

::) i've seen your training journal on the other board which includes a massive 355 for sets of 3 on the squat, care to retract your statement?

listen dave (by the way, who gave you access to the harley account? i remember who started it, and it wasn't you...), if you want to start rolling again down that path, we can do that. all i'm saying is that a 900 pound squat does not mean he puts more pure physical exertion into his workouts than others. i then pointed out that this may not be a BAD thing because he's obviously progressed incredibly far.

familiar with a fella named nick winters? he used to say over on another board it was funny how his training sessions are half as long as other guys and he never "kills" himself in the gym, if i remember the guy goes 45 minutes per workout or so. he trains exactly how his body needs to train in order to get better, instead of throwing everything but the kitchen sink into his workouts in the hopes that it'll work.

i train arguably less hard than when i was 170 and doing "bodybuilding" training, where all my workouts were modeled after platz's idea of going until you puke or pass out. and yet, hey surprise, i'm progressing more.

by the way, are we ever going to see proof of your 545 for reps squat? ::)

great thread

i dont think you can judge how hard someone trains by the amount they lift

however,

putting 900 pounds on your back and squatting is pretty fucking hardcore

yeah right, basically you dont understand the fundamental aspects of muscle growth. its not a question of method. lots of methods have been used to grow muscle, but they should all be based on the same fundamental laws of muscle growth. (which have been known to 95% since the paper produced by goldspinkel or whatever his name back in the 70s)

as for you dorian yates example you should read his books. you have no idea what your talking about.

the 545 squat is when he managed to get out of the sofa.

I think the iron sheik had the most optimal training regimen.  Start with a joint, drink a six pack of Heineken on the way to the gym, do two sets of 135 on the bench, and then take a nap.

As someone who has trained for 4 decades including side-by-side with a top-3 Universe placer when i was a teen, i can say without hesitation that slave knows his shit. Bluto on the other hand is getbig's no. 1 troll, always contributes the absolute minimum EXCEPT when it comes to negativity and trolling. No evidence that bluto has any type of intensity other than pounding those keys 24-7 lol

Hope this helps. :D

but you only know one law that you call fundamental which you say is progressively adding resistance to the bar when in reality there's a number of ways including no of reps, sets, rest and times it take to complete a rep.

and if thats not all, it's also up to debate if progress can be made without ANY of the above (including weight increase)

as for dorian, seeing is believing. ive yet to see him use any fractional plates or otherwise put more weight on the bar from one week to the next. and nobody else either in no video EVER of ANY bodybuilder. and i have 100+ gigs of videos.

Perennially hostile "magoo" is still getting over a lover's quarrel with "alex23" here awhile back, they were supposed to book a hotel room during his visit and ended up having hissy fits back and forth. :-*
