On my wendler program, the last lift of the day in each week three is a max effort.
This is my second week 3. On deadlifts, I've been exceeding the rep range. Last week was 12 reps (1-5 is good), this week I got 8, but my grip failed (think I had 12 reps that day).
Should I, uh, add straps for that set?
I've always felt you needed to lift the weight to say you lifted the weight. I don't use straps or belts, but the weight's enough for me where the grip failed. I also have broken finger on each hand in the last year (7 weeks ago on left hand).
I will follow your advice to the letter.
