Britain's quality of life worse than former Communist countries

  Jan. 6 (Telegraph) --  Britain’s has fallen to 25th position on a list of best places in the world to live.
 

Our poor climate, soaring unemployment and congested roads means we are now ranked behind countries such as the Czech Republic and Lithuania. It means even former Communist countries where unemployment is still rife are considered better places to live.
 
The new ranking puts Britain five places lower than a year ago, when we stood in 20th position, according to The Quality of Life Index, produced by International Living Magazine. The index has ranked countries in 10 categories - Cost of Living, Culture and Leisure, Economy, Environment, Freedom, Health, Infrastructure, Safety and Risk, and Climate.

For the fifth year in a row France beat 200 countries in the annual three-decades-old International Living magazine Quality of Life Index.
The rankings are: 1 France; 2 Australia; 3 Switzerland; 4 Germany; 5 New Zealand; 6 Luxembourg; 7 USA; 8 Belgium; 9 Canada; 10 Italy; 11 Netherlands; 12 Norway; 13 Austria; 14 Liechtenstein; 15 Malta; 16 Denmark; 17 Spain; 18 Finland; 19 Uruguay; 20 Hungary; 21 Portugal; 22 Lithuania; 23 Andorra; 24 Czech Rep; 25 UK.

Seen that the ruling government is pretty much a communist party, that would make sense. Thats what 13 years of the labour party will do to a country. Sadly it wont be long before the US drops way down the list.

AN Australian city has the unenviable reputation as the world capital for broken jaws, with alarming casualty statistics for drunken violence.

Oral and maxillofacial surgeon Mahiban Thomas told the Northern Territory News that Royal Darwin Hospital saw more patients with broken jaws than any other capital.
