This all started during Clinton's term with the daily polling nonsense.  I think Dick Morris was the spark that set that fire ablaze.

THIS SHIT IS RETARDED

Of course it is, the debates should be on the merits of the bills and laws they are trying to do.

Blah blah blah,

I'm sending out copies of a foreclosure of a mechanic's lien right now to where there are 30 defendants.

So?

You want an award or something?

No, just the deadbeat owner to pay up.  They owe $125k to my client alone and stiffed a lot of subcontractors on this.

Popularity is fleeting and unimportant at this stage.  All presidents know and understand this at some point.

However, it does make a difference for the congress people as they are up every 2 years.

obama back up to 49% on gallup.

it's truly insane that after everything he's done - exactly half of the nation still fist-bumps the guy.

Now that is some pretty pathetic spin.

It may be fleeting, but it can forecast what will happen in November.

True but that won't hurt Obama either.  In fact it may help him further his bid for re-election.  By showing he can work with a republican controlled congress.  Next thing you know he's in for another 4.

Good point, but the issue is how many dem congress people want to walk the plank for Obama?

I have said from day 1 that the Pelosi led House of Reps would be Obama's biggest problem.  and it is.  If he has a GOP Congress to deal with, he will ge things done, even if the DU, HP, FDL crowd hates it.

What has that got to do with a discussion on the prez's job approval rating?

Really?  I wouldn't call it spin, I'd call it analysis.

I think Obama should be at 33% right now, given the economy and his agenda.  I've said it in your absense a million times... I'm utterly shocked he's as high as he is.  Reagan and clinton were this low and the nation was in FAR better shape.

There is nothing positive about a president who was immensely popular seeing his approval ratings plummet like a rock in one year.  He has lost independents.  He has lost the Republicans who supported him.  He is even losing liberals.

I know it's early, but he is in serious trouble.  At this point, in terms of November and the damage he will cause his party at the polls, his only hope is some kind of terrorist attack, war, etc.

He lost some of those who supported him, yes.  Is anybody denying that?

My point is that he had plenty to spare, and he sacrificed 20 points to print trillions, shove shit sandwiches down throats, and he's still neck and neck with any given GOP candidate, just as he was in summer of 2008.  Yes, the tingles people had are gone.  But only half of america disapproves?  I mean, what does he have to do to drop to 35 or 40%?

You're right about any event too - good or bad, the nation unites.  Bush didn't stop 911, and he jumped 40 points in polls because of it.  If he had stopped it, he sure wouldn't have jumped 40 points.

It isn't that he lost some support.  He has lost essentially all of the support that got him into office.  Any president will usually have an approval rating somewhere around 40 percent or so.  Those people likely represent voters who will support their party representative no matter what.

My belief is that he SHOULD be in Bush territory.  He was around 30%.  That includes a quarter of that 40% who votes party no matter what.

I mean, a large chunk of obama's base is broke.  Yet they still love the guy.  That is what's baffling.  Obama should be at 30 or 35%.  he SHOULD have lost that quarter of the loyal dem base.  But he hasn't, yet.

IMO it's because the GOP hasn't offered a better solution.  There is no anti-Obama with their shit together.  You have idiots with crib notes on their hands and of course, every good GOP voice seems to have a mistress they just can't hide.

Seriously repubs... get a good candidate.  Beach and 33, you guys are both more than adequately prepared.  Why dont yall run for office?  The repubs don't have a good voice.  If any candidate was an educated and passionate as 333386, he'd clean obama's clock in a debate.  And BB would be a fine running mate... eye rolls every time the other candidate in the debate spoke, that would be hilarious.

It took Bush 6 years to get whwere Obama is after only 1 year 240.

Sorry 24 - no one with my thick accent, speaks as fast as Drinking w Bob, looks like the guy from the Shield, and has over 35 guns and wants more, is a Slayer/Ice T/Public enemy  fan is going to get elected to anything soon.

There is no way he should be in the 30s.  Nonsense.  He should not have lost all of the swing voters so soon.  He burned through his political capital in a matter of months.
