My point is that he had plenty to spare, and he sacrificed 20 points to print trillions, shove shit sandwiches down throats, and he's still neck and neck with any given GOP candidate, just as he was in summer of 2008. Yes, the tingles people had are gone. But only half of america disapproves? I mean, what does he have to do to drop to 35 or 40%?
You're right about any event too - good or bad, the nation unites. Bush didn't stop 911, and he jumped 40 points in polls because of it. If he had stopped it, he sure wouldn't have jumped 40 points.
