Lost in the shuffle indeed. Look at jet li, his whole role was making Stallone "look tall". He's much better off if he can get in the second with some kind of weight.

An interview I read with van damme a while ago said he is happier being out of the limelight which has helped him calm down and not continue on the road of destruction.
He is still famous and makes what money he needs from the straight to dvd market

he has smoked too many extacy pipes to realise that if ur in a movie with arnold (even if arnold's screentime duration was disappointing and dialogue could have been more directly comical) then ur in the fukn winners cirlcle.



van dumb = sell out from the start to become a movie star, now after coke love he is trying to find roles with substance and avoid selling out, so the story goes........   how the fuck does ANY movie star refuse 1 min screen time and payout?

Must be why he made another Universal Soldier sequel, which went straight to video.  ::) It's more a case of his ego still getting the better of him.

I think there's also the backlash issue if it bombed. I'd think he'd be better off trying to make a cheap knock off. hollywood loves to jump onto fads. Something with gerard butler would be a laugh.

  To me, Van Damme will forever be the supreme action hero. His films bring back happpy memories from my infancy and adolescence. I will never forget Tong Po's taunting Van Damme after violating his female buddy:

 "You bleed like Mei Ling. Mei Ling...good fuck!"

  Truly epic! ;D How can you not love this guy? Best movie quote ever besides the one from "Kill Bill" part I - (my name is Buck and I am here to fuck!!!!"

  Jean was the only thing that saved the film "Street Fghter". His performance as Guile and his fight against Mr.Bison at the end was great.

Adding Chuck Norris to the mix would have changed the dynamics of the entire movie.  His presence alone would have altered the title from the "expendables" to the "dependables" because every one of those hard asses would have depended on Chuck to stay alive..
