So basically what you're saying is anyone with a unversity degree doesn't believe in God? What about the people that have degrees that do believe? This really the liberal elitist mentality. It no secret that most unversities teach with a very liberal leaning, they make no bones about it. Those same unversities also point their agends at non-creationaism. That was a weak arguement X-factor.

It's not really an argument.  More of an observance with an underlying meaning. I wouldn't mind having friends that have religious beliefs as I'd be interested in their perspectives. I mean perspectives from someone that's say an MBA or PH.D and has some neat accomplishments under their belts.

By the way you spellled University wrong two times.  Just sayin.

I'll be a devils advocate here.  I'd say I'm much more Conservative politically than liberal.  From a fiscal standpoint especially.

Coach, I'm a catholic atheist. (raised catholic turned atheist) ...during my college years at the largest Catholic university in USA. DePaul University (not sure if it's still the largest?)

It's not that the universities teach towards non-creationism. It's that the education you receive will make you realize that the concept of religion and god is illogical. After spending countless hours of learning about chemistry, bio, math, physics, microbiology, ...etc.

You begin to tie in all of those concepts together and the more you learn about the universe and world the more (in my case) I realized that it's insane that people subscribe to religion and god.

Business school.. 2.yr of bachelor.. The muslims are either religious or claim to be in fear of alienation from friends and family, most Christians are non practicing and don't give a shit about religion but are "christian" = like eating ribs and getting christmas gifts. I'm talking about the general feel I get among the young here in Norway, haven't exactly surveyed the people at school.

Coach, how good is your understanding of the scientific view on the creation of the universe and life?

Do you know what a Goldilocks zone is? Do you know where the most abundant biomass is located on earth(hint: a place that your bible would know absolutely nothing about)? Do you know anything about the formation of amino acids? Do you understand basic Newtonian and quantum physics? Do you really understand the basic theory of evolution?

The list goes on and on obviously, but I've never seen you display the slightest knowledge of these things. You should be a little bit more humble when saying that science is a load of bullocks until you at least have a basic understanding of it.

If you can be bothered, please rate yourself on a scale from 1 to 10 in how well you think you understand science, 10 being a professor in natural sciences and 1 being a redneck with downs syndrome. I'd put myself at a 6. I'm just curios what your self-perception is here.
coach has no education and his job is to train people and convince them of his knowledges by sporting a physique he obtained using steroids... i guess it answers your question.

Imagine a world without evil...without an example for those to NOT follow.
Imagine everybody all happy and singing Smurfette's "La-La" song...people would be offing themselves due to bordem. Evil is needed in this world, the wicked have to be played off the righteous, and vice versa. Just as a world could not exist with pure evil...man would not be able to create it's civilization, everybody would have killed each other off. Hardship, evil deeds and the fight against them fuel man to be better. So, in a sense, The Devil serves a purpose, and is serving God, a way of stoking the flames of man's survival, an quality control system...
It's called the animal kingdom. No rules, only the survival of the fittest, strongest. You either adapt at all costs, imitate other people strategies of survival to insure your own survival or the survival of your offspring.

Schopenhauer, Kant, buddhists....all came to the same conclusion ; life is an infinite circle with no other purpose but to perpetuate itself. Nothing is ever new, everything is always a repetition of something from the past, but we re never aware that we are repeating patterns. Hapiness leads to suffering that leads to hapiness, that leads to suffering, over and over and over again. They all come to the conclusion you have to be good and compasionate while on earth but you should not reproduce because it would mean that you would participate in the perpetuation of suffering which is the ultimate mistake.
Buddhism is essentially nihilistic, and all these views of existence all share the same concept that women are the matrix, the origin of evil, who always want babies and always lure men into giving em babies. They "want" love, yet give birth to more suffering.
When you give birth you also give death and suffering.
Something you can find in christianism with eve eating the apple.
It is always the same story, with some particularities depending of how it evolved in different places of the world. All religions originate in the same behaviors and beliefs our ancestors, homo erectus, developped while struggling to survive. This is how the recent brain (prefrontal lobes) evolved. It's an extension of the old brain (lymbic system and reptilian brain) that has for sole purpose to make us even more tougher and such able to survive.

Surviving = hapiness.
Dying or having low chances of survival compared to others = depression and death.
The funny is that both happy people -good looking, rich, educated- and depressed ones -ugly, uneducated, violent- reproduce.

To believe, to hope for something in the future, is a construction of your brain which makes you want so survive. If you have no hope and dont believe in anything youre  existence becomes pointless and you start harming yourself or others. People who have been abandonned, hated, by their family, parents, are more prone to become depressive. They have a low level of serotonin in the brain. People who have been loved by their family have a higher level of serotonine in their brain.

THis should clear things up for you and all the other pagans: Psalm 14:1

Don't be so fucking lazy, just post up the damn thing

Psalm 14:1-7 (King James Version)

Psalm 14

1The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good.

2The LORD looked down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there were any that did understand, and seek God.

3They are all gone aside, they are all together become filthy: there is none that doeth good, no, not one.

4Have all the workers of iniquity no knowledge? who eat up my people as they eat bread, and call not upon the LORD.

5There were they in great fear: for God is in the generation of the righteous.

6Ye have shamed the counsel of the poor, because the LORD is his refuge.

7Oh that the salvation of Israel were come out of Zion! when the LORD bringeth back the captivity of his people, Jacob shall rejoice, and Israel shall be glad.

Bible says God created evil..

You are correct, the King James bible has a few verses that read exactly that way (in Isaiah, in Lamentations, another verse I don't recall where).  The word "evil" used in the King James version actually comes from a Hebrew word (don't know it) which means "disaster" or "catastrophe" if I remember correctly.  The noted evil that was created was not the evil we as humans choose to committ (moral decision on our part).  The old english King James bible just doesn't read/speak like we do today (I own one, but don't refer to it...have a modern translation bible I study from).  Still, the original intent in both versions (King James and modern english) is the same...wording has been translated for the audience and language of today.  Aside from those couple of verses I don't recall anywhere else.....I'm no expert though.

Isaiah 45:7

I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.

In another passage Isaiah goes on to say that NOTHING exists that god didn't create.

In other words, if it exists, God created it.

I should write a book, then state in the book that anyone who disagrees with what I say in the book, is a fool.....then, when someone points out a flaw in my book, I can point to that passage and end the argument.. genuis! ::)

Honestly, don't know what else to tell you.  I was correct on the verse you were referring and resolved the translation issue.
