Which begs another question.. If a god actually wrote, (inspired, guided the authors) the bible, why would there be translation errors at all? Why would the word witches be used in the KJV and referenced to give authority to burn witches alive at the stake? Why would god allow "disaster" to be translated erroneously to "evil" in the 1600's and stand as the standard for 400 yrs?
Why, if Christians claim the holy spirit guides them, would there be hundreds of denominations claiming the bible says different things? Why do Christians, who claim they can talk to god, the author of the book, argue about once saved always saved, or water baptism, or what hell is like....?
Here is my thing, if the God of the bible is beyond our comprehension, and the bible was written for us to comprehend him better, why does he come off as a cranky old Clint Eastwood in the Old Testament and in the New Testament like Mr. Rogers?
He comes off as if constructed by a human male mind. Including calling him "Father", Lord, God, Him, etc.
If anything one would assume that God would be a woman, due to her giving birth, and how the earth is seen as feminine---giving birth to plants, thus human civilization could grow. And water is associated with the feminine as well.
If we look at the Biblical God, he exhibits masculine traits---punishment, even "impregnating" women, being stern, ruling, etc.
