My all time favs as well, together with Al, simply amazing  ;)

Yep, love that show. Learned how to pick fast by watching Al and Paul Gil...something...

Saw Al on the World Sinfonia tour in '93 at the Jazz Fest here. Awesome, awesome show.

That's the most difficult portion of in depth music theory right there. We all hated the "Dweedle Dee 101" class...

It's going to take you a year to learn 'all along the watch tower' the fucking verse is only x3 chords.

The solo might take you a bit of time, but it's all Pentatonic, you just need a (original cry baby) wha wha, & your done.

Ah well, at least we still have o'l 'snail pace slim' & the hamsters.

Ron Wood-"the two best guitarist I ever heard were Hendrix and SRV"

& here is what Hendrix was doing around the same time, light years ahead mate

Live at the BBC in 69, what was Clapton doing with the guitar at the time, oh yeah walking off stage with it, after getting blown away by Hendrix when Cream let him get up & jam with them

PT

Just to remind you, we could have had this, & we got Clapton instead, FFS. The thing that fucks me off is that 'SRV' only got that Chopper because he had a flight to catch, so Clapton let him have his seat, mother-fucker!!

You luck bastard, I saw 'Bill Hicks' play the Dominion in 91, so there!!

Did you her that version of 'Johnny b goode' that Jimmy did at Berkely, fucking awesome, he blew every-fucker away with his covers, Chuck Berry,  the Beatles (sgt pepper), Dylan (all along the watch tower, like a rolling stone), Cream (sunshine of your love), etc.

that "hamsters" version blows.

as for the ramones, they're one of the original generation nothinginess.

jack white's style of music reminds me of the ramones because as my friend says "learning a jack white song gives you instant satisfaction".

it takes about 4 minutes to learn a 3 minute (typical) jack white song.  of course some are more complex, but 90% of the time it's 4 chord rock.

yeah...same with Green day.  My nephew wanted to learn some so I played a couple songs on the computer then worked it out in like 5 minutes.  Meanwhile he is looking at tabs...lol.  I told him for green day you are better off listening to it then try to figure it out.  After he got the song down pretty good he looks back in guitar tab.  I ask him what is he looking up and he says Smoke on the Water... :-\.  I told him he was a fucking idiot and walked out.

This guy worked in the guitarshop I did, he left just before I started though. He got spotted by Tommy Emmanuelle shortly after, he's young as fuck and I believe one of the best in the world, similar style to Emmanuelle in a lot of ways.

Fucking cool!

His name is Ewan Dobbson

He's a little wacky (smokes a lot of weed) and that is him playing the 5th caprice NOTE FOR NOTE ON A F*CKING ACOUSTIC!!!@!@!!

Damn clean, fast and simply extremely well done! There was one point at 53sec where the video did something a little fishy, but something tells me this dude is the real deal.

are you kidding?

that guy sucks, his guitar wasn't even a 7 or 8 string, he had no overdrive and almost no use of the wah pedal.

He lives, breathes and dreams guitar, practices 7-8 hours a day, and I don't mean fucking around with chords on an electric, I mean full out blazing on acoustic/classical... you know how some guys were just born to play guitar? guys like Eddie Van Halen, Jimi Hendrix, Malmsteen, Steve Vai ??? he's one of those guys, he has perfect pitch.

I've never heard him make a mistake once or play out of tune the guy is 100%

He's a good player but if he used lagato more the notes would be clearer and smoother instead of that nasty picking sound.

He's classically trained, I don't think he ever got that much into legato, he plays the most jaw dropping ridiculous sweep arpeggio's you've ever seen though, I mean like Frank Gambale right across the neck from 1st fret to 24th and back. He's a little out there really into Zappa and other weird shit, kind of like Buckethead just out there.
