I envy people who love the taste of asparagus, since it works as a natural diuretic.

cephissus, Isn't it very time consuming to cook like that all the time? Don't get me wrong, looks awesome.

My day yesterday consisted of Mexican food (un friend Chimichanga) for lunch (with beer and tequila shot),
And Sals Pizza for dinner. Not exactly stuff in the cephissus class of foods.

Would love to be cephissus's room mate (No h-mo of course), just for the leftovers  :D

Are you implying that they won't serve dishes like these in a Michelin rated restaurant? :D

I have a simple law in the kitchen, which I seldom violate: eating time > cooking time

If i were rich then I would hire Cephissus as sauce chef.

Indeed.  I actually spend about 3-4 hrs per day cooking, planning, prepping, cleaning, etc. And consider it a part time job, at this point (as I am being compensated).

I definitely need to keep getting faster.  Luckily, that comes with experience.  And I keep learning how to prep complicated meals over a series of days, such that I can at least get dinner ready quickly after I get home from my main job.

For example, I made the chicken and waffles over three days, mostly as I cleaned: pre-cooked chicken in batches and make gravy on day 1, prepped batter day 2, fried and made waffles day 3.

If I were just cooking for myself, Im not sure what I would do.  I always found it hard to cook for one -- a lot of stuff doesn't seem worth it. But if I only make simple meals, I get bored.  Cooking for other people also makes it easy to keep calories in check:  make too much?  Just give it to someone else.  No tempting leftovers.

Also, nice scallops ff!  Never made em before, might have to give em a go.

Tonight we are eating a chicken artichoke gourmet from Papa Murphy's. I didn't feel like cooking.

My wife just announced to our family that we were having traditional eggs Benedict tomorrow for breakfast. I guess this means I am cooking and fixing the hollandaise sauce, which I am a master at preparing.

I fixed pork fried rice for dinner. I screwed up the recipe. We ate it anyway but tossed the leftovers. Next time, I will follow the recipe or order it in from a local restaurant.
