Think for a second a major natural disaster hits your town, or there is war, or hyperinflation or some other crazy shit

What would you eat?

Absolutely.   I have about a month of provisions on hand.  Guns, ammo, dry food, propane, water, water purification , toiletries, etc.

With this communist junta in DC you never know what will happen.

I know which Food/grocery store distribution centers to hit the first day with stolen rigs/18whlrs. Next its on to the military bases near by that are storing all my arsenal for me till I need them. Best of all is the bases have mickey mouse security with stoned guards.   Ground works been laid=preparation plus opportunity.

I have candles and matches incase I lose electricity.  Food wise, I always have bottled water, baked beans, tinned tuna, rice cakes, tinned fruit and nuts.

This is an interesting question. Rice is useless btw if the water's down. Cans of tuna in oil got condensed protein and calories. Dried fruit would be good too....

The earthquake on 3/11 was a big lesson for me, I am fully equipped now. Food, water, emergency pack with light, first aid kit, warm blanket and so on.
Good.

Absolutely.   I have about a month of provisions on hand.  Guns, ammo, dry food, propane, water, water purification , toiletries, etc.

Only a month?

That is why I have a preference for guns/ammo, over stored food. You can't eat guns, but you can eat people.

The earthquake on 3/11 was a big lesson for me, I am fully equipped now. Food, water, emergency pack with light, first aid kit, warm blanket and so on.

& that is just to change a light bulb.

I watched a video where some wallstreet leader guy explained that those who can not afford buying gold or silver could buy copper... and if not that, then one should buy food, water, toothpase, shampoo etc... if one doesn't smoke it's good to have smokes so you can trade them to something valuable with a person who does smoke etc, because regular everyday consumer producsts will get fucking expensive and even hard to get. But he was talking with "now now" and not "if if", but yet there's people who think it's good to invest to dollar, what the fuck.

"1990 - U.S. debt $3.2 trillion - "Everything is fine".
2000 - U.S. debt $5.6 trillion - "Everything is fine".
2005 - U.S. debt $8 trillion - "Everything is fine".
2008 - U.S. debt $10 trillion - "Everything is fine".
2011 - U.S. debt $14.5 trillion - "Everything is fine".
2011 Addendum - U.S. can't make interest payments. Increase the debt ceiling and borrow even more from the rest of the world! - "Everything is fine".
Perspective is a bitch."

Disasters are heading this way.

True, good advice. I'm also considering buying some gold when I have the money.
indeed, buy at the top of the market.
makes sense to me

In ancient rome, with an ounce of gold you could rush to a shopping square and buy a great robe and a hand crafted belt.

now, over 2000 years later, with an ounce of gold you can rush to market buy a nice suit and a hand crafted belt.

Indeed buying gold is never a bad thing, and the top is far from reached

there is no evidence that this is true. pure bro science and blind faith
in the world economy. one can always pray i suppose or even vote.
one of the 3 is bound to hit right.
