I think swelling depends on the person.  It usually takes a while for me, but one of my kids gets a nasty bruise and swells up real quick.

Like I said - innocent until proven guilty. Not enough evidence to suggest Zimmermans story is fabricated. Evidence from eyewitness' corroborating his story.
There is no 100% proof smoking gun positive that his story is completely true. But there IS evidence supporting most of it and next to zero against it.
Thats where my hypothesis comes from.

From what I gather, she's the only witness making those claims, too. There are multiple other witnesses all saying that Zimmerman was on his back. Also to note is that none of those people were rushing to be on national TV with their claims like the woman.

Christ! If the officers thought there was alcohol involved they would have tested, either based on smell from his breath or actions. If there is no signs of impairment - guess what, they dont test.

A witness who asked not to be identified, even by gender, told CNN's Anderson Cooper about hearing voices outside in an area where neighborhood residents often walk their dogs and wondering, "Oh, my gosh, who's out there walking their dog in the rain?"

Then the witness heard a "very loud, predominant voice" and opened the window.

"I couldn't hear the words, but it was like, OK, this is not a regular conversation. This is someone aggressively, you know, yelling at someone."

The witness recalled seeing two men on the grass, one on top of the other.

"And at that point, not looking out the window, I heard the yell for help, one yell for help, and then I heard another ... excruciating type of yell," the witness said. "It didn't almost sound like 'help.' It just sounded so painful. But I wasn't watching out the window during that. And then the next time I looked out the window, there's the same thing: two men on the grass, one on top of each other. I couldn't see a lot of movement. It was very dark, but I felt like they were scuffling. And then I heard the gunshots, which, to me, were more like pops than they were like a bang."

The witness recalled hearing more than one shot. "It definitely was more than one pop noise, so I don't know if it was an echo or anything else. But it definitely made more than one pop."

Then one of the men, who appeared to be Hispanic, started walking toward the witness' vantage point, the witness said. Zimmerman is Hispanic.

"He didn't appear hurt or anything else," the witness said.

The night of that shooting, police say there was a witness who saw it all.
 
Our sister station, FOX 35 in Orlando, has spoken to that witness.
 
What Sanford Police investigators have in the folder, they put together on the killing of Trayvon Martin few know about.
 
The file now sits in the hands of the state attorney. Now that file is just weeks away from being opened to a grand jury.
 
It shows more now about why police believed that night that George Zimmerman shouldn't have gone to jail.
 
Zimmerman called 911 and told dispatchers he was following a teen. The dispatcher told Zimmerman not to.
 
And from that moment to the shooting, details are few.
 
But one man's testimony could be key for the police.
 
"The guy on the bottom who had a red sweater on was yelling to me: 'help, help…and I told him to stop and I was calling 911," he said.
 
Trayvon Martin was in a hoodie; Zimmerman was in red.
 
The witness only wanted to be identified as "John," and didn't not want to be shown on camera.
 
His statements to police were instrumental, because police backed up Zimmerman's claims, saying those screams on the 911 call are those of Zimmerman.
 
"When I got upstairs and looked down, the guy who was on top beating up the other guy, was the one laying in the grass, and I believe he was dead at that point," John said.
 
Zimmerman says the shooting was self defense. According to information released on the Sanford city website, Zimmerman said he was going back to his SUV when he was attacked by the teen.
 
Sanford police say Zimmerman was bloody in his face and head, and the back of his shirt was wet and had grass stains, indicating a struggle took place before the shooting

Yeah - I think this witness may be the cornerstone of testimony. The others saw varying degrees of the altercation, but none had a clear image like this man claims to have.

Prosecutors jobs are to prosecute. She wants to make a name for herself - this may be the trial of the year. Clearly you missed the story (posted here in this thread) where the prosecutor admitted she couldnt refute ANY of Zimmermans story (regarding the attack) at the bail hearing.

Among all the coverage of Zimmerman being granted bail, most reporters are missing the most important detail of the day. The State's investigator admitted, under oath, that they have no way to disprove Zimmerman's claim that Trayvon Martin started the flight and assaulted him.

That speaks to, make that screams Stand Your Ground, and combined with new pictures of a bleeding and battered Zimmerman taken three minutes after the police arrived, it's all becoming so very clear to legal observers that Zimmerman walks on a SYG motion or at the least a SD verdict.
