In bodybuilding there is something called an "off-season" where bodybuilders generally "bulk up", hope this helps.

Yeah maybe in this ridiculous circus you call todays bodybuilding.

What exactly is the point in looking like shit for 350 days a year? (and the other 15 days they still look like shit, but to a lesser degree) That shouldn't be the goal of bodybuilding, and this is the exact reason why this cult is going to shit, but keep defending this idiotic behaviour.

As a bodybuilder you should strive to look strong and healty, not bloated, unhealthy as hell like you could collapse any minute.

Awesome is relative. When you compare these pictures you cannot do anything but conclude bodybuilding has regressed. Wheter I'm fat or a twink is not the point.

Bodybuilders in competition are leaner than bodybuilders off season. Hope this helps.

You might as well compare Arnold off the Roids to Hugh Jackman in X-men shape and conclude that iron-age bodybuilding was rubbish. Moron.

Well they still look bloated and unhealthy in the "onseason" compared to the 80's bodybuilders (even offseason) so my point stands don't you think? The "look" of the muscles is totally different.

To some extent I agree, but smaller guys are always gonna look more lean and mean. I mean Bruce Lee in turn is more ripped than Bob Paris, but bodybuilding is to do with building your body as well.

You'd have to use a Heath competition pic like this to fairly compare to Bob Paris competition shape.
