Perhaps I didn't explain it clearly enough. If Hitler did not attack England they would not have entered the war and neither would the US, at least not in Europe. What do you think Chamberlains meeting with Hitler was about. They had an agreement to stay out of each others way. If Hitler did not break his promise, who knows?

mate i can tell you the UK had a lot of troops in Germany in the cold war. Heavy artillery and armour. The US too. So it stands to reason the Germans were no longer a threat. You see you got to walk the walk my friend.

I think USA would have still entered sooner or later.
wwII was what made USA big. Too big an opportunity to dismiss.

But of course this is all speculation and no one knows what would have happened. There you're right.

You never hear lot about UK from those days. I have read plenty of USA and USSR in cold war but other countries seem to be neglected.
