Diet dillemma
« on: December 23, 2012, 07:34:03 AM »
Ever since I started bodybuilding 20 something years ago, cutting all the animal fat was all the rage when it came to dieting. Is it necessarry to cut out as much animal fat as possible in order to get ripped? This includes organic milk and organic eggs (homegrown) by the way, and instead of skineless breats I am talking drums and other bodyparts WITH the skin on.

PS: there is a calorie deficit and the diet includes almonds and avocado

How much cardio do you do? I do 2 hours daily of normal walking on a treadmill or stationary bike.

I don't do cardio at all but I work 8-9 hours a day on my feet constantly moving.

I have always done this in the past .. 2 hours with a heart rate of around 60-70% of max ..

Without drugs and at 37 it gets harder to shed the fat ... your body is not 25 anymore ..

On the other hand, I will not stay 12 weeks on a friggin diet. I diet and get ripped in 6-8 weeks

bullshit.

on hormones, you create the same hormonal enviroment, thicko.

what makes dieting harder for you is youve lost that bit mass youve had a decade ago.

when theres less muscle, dieting gets harder.

i lose fat just as quick as when i was 20, sometimes it even feels faster

how is it bullshit if you agree with him.

He said "without drugs and at 37, it gets harder" ...

and you say with drugs its pretty much the same at 37 as when you were younger.......

your legs standing all day supporting gravity adds up over time and over the days and months and years

nearing the end of the work day your legs can have that heavy as lead feeling to them, i know i dont get enough protien to support any growth and repair

Surprised nobody has mentioned this yet...but on a lower carb diet, your intake of Omega 3s and mono/poly unsaturated fats needs to be increased. You can't simply eat the normal amounts of sat fats and expect to keep making that steady progress week by week to reach a shredded 4% naturally. O-3's will promote a level of lipolysis not seen with extremely high O-6 diets.

Keeping your almonds and avocados in the mix is key.

Godspeed you gypsy f***.

*this is a solid general rule of thumb for MOST people, and backed by research.  Blacks and crazy ectormorphs are different animals entirely.

Weights 3 times a week...Cardio 3 times a week...Eat less, drink more water. If you could get to 8% and under at 2500 cals in your 20's, eat 2000 cals into your 30's. Once you get into your 40's, you don't need more than 1800 cals. 1500 cals in your 50's. And when you hit 60, 1200 cals will be enough.  These numbers are to maintain muscle and be ripped.

Way to much cardio IMO, unless that is the only cardio you do all week. Loosing fat at 20 or 40 is the same. Stop eating so much, don't even need cardio. To get ripped, you'll need a solid base of muscle. If you start cutting with no muscle, you'll end up skinny fat.

Hope this helps.

The Atkins diet includes fats but no carbohydrates initially and then only in very limited portions. I've heard that some people get completely ripped on the Atkins diet. You can check it out here: http://community.atkins.com/registration.aspx?mcid=dig2012semggl?utm_source=google&utm_medium=PPCsrc&utm_content=Off2wkKit&utm_campaign=branded&gclid=CMjVxZW8srQCFSXZQgodLAkA-Q

Any nurtitionally incomplete diet is potentially unhealthy and definitely hard to stick to. If your mind thinks your body is starving, it shuts down your metabolism to preserve your life. Once you start providing your body the nutrition it needs again your are likely to suffer a rebound effect where you gain a disproportionate amount of fat.

Essentially, the best method of getting cut is to limit your overall caloric intake while keeping your energy levels high for cardio and weight training. Anytime you burn more calories than you take in, you will end up losing weight and excess fat as long as you keep exercising.
