I don't know where I fit in as an atheist or agnostic, don't really care. But my contention is that if there's a God such as the one described in the Bible, I think he'd do a better job with his instruction booklet. Doesn't even have to leave an entire bible, just something like the 10 commandments except timeless and not bullshit.
In the 21st century, I'd like to know the do's and don'ts. I want a definitive list, one that maybe I can download to my Android and one for monkeys that use Apple devices too. I can appreciate there being some ambiguity and letting us develop and rely on a moral compass, but for fuck sakes the Churches fight over things like homosexuality and they can't even agree on the rules. I'm sorry, but I can't commit to worshipping a God that can't even give a bit of direction.
Everyone should get one of these instruction booklets too. Why are kids starving in Africa without a fighting chance too? I just think there's a bit too much bullshit to really entertain worshipping any sort of deity. I don't anyone should be chastised for that either. It's a huge leap to ask someone to commit themselves without any proof. If God could give me 5 minutes of his time to prove his existence and bounce a few questions back and forth I'm sure we could come to an agreement. But right now, the argument is just not compelling enough.
