Say what you like about the tenets of National Socialism, at least it's an ethos.

Quality of life CAN be difficult for atheists, but at the same respect, christians walk around missing out on a lot of interesting things, because they think they are going to exist after death.  Neither camp is easy.

I'm not sure I follow. You seem to suggest there's something inherent in the lack of belief in deities that would make it difficult for a person without such a belief to have a high quality of life. What would that be?

I don't know where I fit in as an atheist or agnostic, don't really care. But my contention is that if there's a God such as the one described in the Bible, I think he'd do a better job with his instruction booklet. Doesn't even have to leave an entire bible, just something like the 10 commandments except timeless and not bullshit.

In the 21st century, I'd like to know the do's and don'ts. I want a definitive list, one that maybe I can download to my Android and one for monkeys that use Apple devices too. I can appreciate there being some ambiguity and letting us develop and rely on a moral compass, but for fuck sakes the Churches fight over things like homosexuality and they can't even agree on the rules. I'm sorry, but I can't commit to worshipping a God that can't even give a bit of direction.

Everyone should get one of these instruction booklets too. Why are kids starving in Africa without a fighting chance too? I just think there's a bit too much bullshit to really entertain worshipping any sort of deity. I don't anyone should be chastised for that either. It's a huge leap to ask someone to commit themselves without any proof. If God could give me 5 minutes of his time to prove his existence and bounce a few questions back and forth I'm sure we could come to an agreement. But right now, the argument is just not compelling enough.

Christians do play an important role in society though, they do an excellent job of keeping all the annoying new age faggotry at bay.

They're the lesser of two evils.

I'll take that old ignorant prick Pat Robertson over Rachel Maddow and her ilk any day.

Why not let them do as they want and ridicule them for what they are and do rather than impose some archaic bullshit instead?

OMFG am I gonna go to hell for laughing at this? ;D

Boom, double entendre!! But seriously, this is the 21st century and Jesus is going to have to try a little harder than that. Setup a new domain like bible.GOD so I can log on and read up on the rules on my coffee break. If a divine being wants to reach me it'd be easier if they do it electronically. I'm not trying to be cynical either. I try to be a good person and if there really is a man in the clouds I would drop my shit and give them my undivided attention. That would change everything for me! But if I'm expected to read a tainted bible from thousands of years ago that gets passed down by pedophiles who've committed atrocities in the name of their God, you'll have to forgive me for being a bit leery.

I'm just asking that us atheists or non-believers are given something a little more tangible so we can start believing. I used to give my faith blindly, but now that I can form thoughts and opinions independently I don't want to listen to someone who can't provide the simplest of logic.
