He had a Schwarzennegeresque physique and a detailed lower back.

I think a lot of the face "progression" is overblown.

Jay's face doesn't look THAT different comparing both pictures. It's also hard to tell because certain chemicals make you bloat more than others, he could've just had a few bowls of oatmeal and it looks like his face got stung by a bunch of bees.

Anyway, I still do think some of these newer compounds alters these guys faces, but it's also hard to tell because more comparison pics are judging between them at 18 and them at 40, there's obviously going to be a structural difference.

As for Kevin Levrone, you can tell his face is much more slender. That could be related to water intake and the fact that he doesn't consume as much, he does more cardio, he doesn't take gear, etc.

Judging from the pics the guys always had a huge chin. If anything he should start taking more GH.

I look at these pics and say what the facial alterations worth the extra cash & the extra 30lbs ? it boggles my mind how Jay can look at past pics and then look in the mirror and not be freaked-the-f**k-out !! I guess its happens on a day-to-day basis so he & his wife never noticed it but man this is freaky and not in a good sense.

  What's your point?

Gunter is by far.  Lee is also quite marketable.  Jay is up there but I doubt to the degree of those two.

I agree with ya Matt C but Jay gets more recognition due to his achievements on the stage.

Except for the first pic, which could be the angle, i don't see much difference.

The only way to know is to see pics of him in a few years when he's dropped weight following retirement. The extra fullness is likely due to the added bodyweight and will go away to a large extent when he's lighter.

Ronnie may have shown less signs of this??? Maybe he  is just a mutant but i also think pics of Ron from 99 compared to now face wise there is a difference.....

There's a massive difference; FLEX runs this monthly advert peddling their t-shirts etc and it has a picture of a t-shirt wearing Ronnie (it's also front-on, so you only focus on his head really) and a vest-wearing Troy Alves. Pick up a recent Flex (this might be in the UK-only edition, though) and LOOK at Coleman's head, and then compare it to pictures in 1998. His head is easily 25 per cent wider. His body probably is, too, but that's the point.

If anyone can scan the advert I'm talking about, and put it next to a 1998 Ronnie, you'll see an incredible difference in head size.

The proof is in the pudding. Everyone keeps saying how marketable Gunter is, but how many adverts do you see him in? Maybe one a magazine. Same for Lee. Jay's always in 2-3, particularly as he's Muscletech.

I see very little (if any) change in Jays face.

I dont know about face shape but I have noticed massive differences in both arm and leg size between the left and right sides of Jays body. Chad Nichols wrote that this could be down to injury. Maybe but in both arms and legs at the same time on the same side of the body? This is very evident when he has dieted down. (Especially Arnold 04).

Maybe the long pointed jaw is the next stage in the skeletal evolution of homo sapiens.

Think about it.

Before everyone started walking upright, someone had to be the one who did it first.
