Edgar Fletchar was amazing- but somehow never turned pro. He always blew his contest prep and showed up holding a bit of water. Awesome arms though!

Yeah, that must be why Jusup beat Tom Platz, Bob Birdsong, Al Beckles and Mohammed Makkawy et al for the 1980 Pro Mr. Universe too. ::)

Well, there are scores of them. Think of all those pros who win national titles, but never win ANYTHING in the pro ranks. They are too numerous to count...

Agreed.

Bill had a superb physique, especially when you consider he competed in the 1970s.

Good review there Matt. I'm reading it at your site right now.
I had a thread on here before with a lot of photos of Jusup, probably back in the summer of 2005 or so if anyone wanna check him out.

Grant was average at best. Everyone at ironage gets all excited by his full biceps but ignores the fact they overwhelm his triceps and make for an unproportioned arm. Factor in his non existent calves which ironagers also conveniently skip over despite making it a point when criticizing some of todays pros and you have justone example of the disgusting hypocrisy and bias that pervades that site and those that subscribe to it. Sad.

he was the worst physique to become a pro and i am comparing him to other pros of his era.no legs no thickness,no shape etc.he did not deserve to be on stage with other pros,i felt sorry for him being up there.

Oh dear. A lot of hate contained in that post. ;D

Still, let's get away from personal hostility and stick to the subject at hand. No one said Bill's physique was perfect. Yes he had poor calves and his quad size didn't exactly set the World on fire. But he was a very good bodybuilder in his era. He was a Mr. America and Mr. World winner and had quite a few top 10 finishes even in the 1980s.

So to say he was "the worst pro bodybuilder of his time" (as suggested by the title thread) is ridiculous. Here's Bill's competitive record.

Hate? I dont hate ironage, i just see it for what it is or rather what it has become. As for grant he was nothing spectacular; the worst? far from it, but please if your'e going to praise his physique and deify him, then do it at ironage where no one will question your affinity.

Calm down dude.

I simply posted in a thread about Grant started by someone else; like you and anyone else who cared to post here.

Don't dispsense advice to me about where I should or shouldn't post. I've probably posted on Getbig far longer than you and will post here about any bodyuilder or bodybuilding era as I please. You don't like it, go jump in a river.
