Very good quads.

Personally, I don't like the look of those huge quads when you have to waddle when you walk. I prefer the more functional and athletic looking quads. Gal's quads are very well developed and the average person on the street would consider them huge.

this.  Non-comp quads should look lean, athletic, and proportioned... not upside down turnips rlthat make no pants fit and look like a fucking duck that has to take a shit.

huge quads look dumb outside of competition.

they should still be worked and be decent size... but not IFBB proportions.

thanks man, they are just about the right size, go into most trousers etc.

they are overpowered by the upper body, even my doc said that today(went to shoulder therapy :-[ :-X :-\ )

to be honest, not entirely happy with them, quads,yes perfect, hmastrings too flat(get huge when not shredded, but you know the deal), glutes could be bigger.
leads to that look from the side where at times arms look bigger than legs.

but from front, perfect :D


ppl say too big legs are no good, i knda agree, esp bloofy big legs, but a shredded huge leg looks amazing.

i swear i never go heavier than 2 plates each side for squats.

sounds easy, but isnt, i do very slow and never lock out the joints, back keeps straight like candle, and glutes to the heels, very close feet position.

this doesnt sound like much weight but most ppl coudnt bring that weight up from the bottom position without shaking knees,spines, if at all.

not to brag but train with a ifbb pro card holder, esp legs(frend thing,no homo),hes very strong but nowdays train more like me, high volume etc.
i can hang with him, except on the 2 heaviest sets, on these he blows me away.means, i cant even lift that weight once,haha.

on the legpress,the 45% angle one, the heaviest set i go is about 350kg(thats bit more than 700lbs) for about 8 proper reps,slw no lock out, feet close to eachother.thats my heaviest set i only do one(pyraid up to this weight,then down again, always 1 plate each side added or decrease)
he does the same exact training ,except he does 2 more sets with 450kgs(900 and chip change lbs).
something 20 sets of this.(if dont do squats ont hat day)

the rest is all light curls, as theres no energy left after the legpress.

and he squeezes out 2 more reps on every set than i do.consistently.

if i dont do legpress, i just do 1015 sets squats,the rest curls.

Very good most people do not understand proper strict form will build the legs or any bodypart for that matter without injuries. People get into the game of wanting to lift heavy weights bouncing and not using form many end up hurt and have to start over. Ego takes over most minds and they pay the price later. Has your muscles ever asked you "hey man how much weight you got on there"?  Keep on keeping on man.

yah, anyone who thinks theyre "strong" for using 3-4 plates on squats with the commonly used piss poor form are free to "try me" :D

biggest my legs got was when I was powerlifting, but they were big "powerlifter legs" lol.

then cut back down to 'bodybuilder-status' and all of a sudden my jeans fit better and my legs looked better and bigger.

I need heavy volume for legs to grow. doesn't have to be high reps, just high sets.

powerlifting gave good mass/circumference around the upper half of thigh, mostly ham's and glutes, but it wasn't till I met with Kelly Starrett that I started squatting with a medium stance with feet straight and knees out that my quads really took off and got hard, separated and veiny. (I'd squatted with a Westside stance before). with Kelly's stance, I had a lot better "feel" in all muscle groups in my legs and could isolate quads vs. glutes.... with the westside stance, squatting was like a heavy, wide stance, low-bar, good-morning.

my hams never did develop that "pop" that sweeps out to the back, but they had/have a peak when I flex them.... not as impressive though, unless you walk around pulling up your shorts flexing your hams all day. lol
