You'd probably like Vietnamese food. There's a ton of French inspiration in their dishes (they call coffee "ga-fe" for instance and even have a baguette sandwich called banh mi which is really good!). They've also got some pretty decent deserts. But there aren't many Asian desserts out there like there are in French and American cuisines. Asians aren't super big on desserts, but I can tell you that I've eaten some amazing Vietnamese desserts. I don't know the names of them but there are some amazing desserts. At Pho joints you'd probably only find stuff like creme brulée or deep fried bananas and ice cream though. I've never really seen many Viet restaurants with an assortment of desserts.

The Japanese "steakhouses" are pretty good as well.

Yup great stuff..... the original "fusion" cuisine.

For what it's worth, nothing comes close to French food for me.  But it's hard to get the good stuff outside of France

Nice. I've found good Japanese steakhouses to be extremely hard to find. They have a couple in Vancouver but they're few and far between.

Sometimes I make homemade tonkatsu sauce and make my steaks with that. I slice it up over rice with tomatoes, lettuce and cilantro (not typically Japanese) and drizzle the sauce over and serve it family style. The Bulldog brand off the shelf is pretty damn tasty too. It tastes like a Japanese BBQ sauce with ketchup.

Yah, I would always get the fried banana.  I do make it at home at times.

My favorite easy to make dessert at home is Bananas Foster, from New Orleans.  Here is where it originated from and they still make it to this day!

Thats not how its fried.  Hope this helps.  Furthermore, the fat content from deep frying in oil is not much higher than pan frying.  You can deep fry an unbreaded chicken breast and if your  oil is the correct temperature, it will absorb less oil than if you pan fry it like your average dillhole bodybuilder will do.

I never really enjoyed fried foods......I bake my chicken, usually quarters with garlic salt

Man... when my wife was pregnant she had hyperemesis gravidarum and couldn't even hold down water. Once she started to tolerate foods, all she could eat for a few weeks was fried bananas and vanilla ice cream. Mmm... banana Fosters looks like a damn good dessert. I'll give that variation a try next time!

Nothing wrong with that either, but everything is better fried!

Candy Bars, like the Mars Bar, are the Best thing ever deep fried.  Scotland can take credit for this one.  It can also be found on the menu now at many restaurants in Paris.  (thieves!)

Perhaps you are speaking of rolls, I guess some like the California roll might have mayo in it, but the vast majority of sushi does not.

Not just the Cali rolls, some places mix mayo into the rice..

Its average.  Nothing special.  I`d rather be eating a Ribeye or a Cowboy steak.

Why not enjoy both? Nothing compares to a great peace of ahi

I agree, but Sushi is low on my list.  Fried Catfish>Sushi.  Sea Bass is the best!

For me, Sushi is average at best.  But then again, I am partial to American Cuisine.  America has by far, the best food of any country and is the most diverse.

Hard to disagree about diversity
