Not sure how the programs over there look but they should have a block on each horse that shows their past races, the length and time of the race. In the states an average of a 11-12 sec furlong is a decent time. So if you see a horse has a time of 1:12 for 6 Furlongs it is fairly decent. A 1 mile at 1:40 or less is good. Too much goes into it and I lose all the time but I don't bet big at all and I actually own and race thoroughbreds at various parks. It is a tough and corrupt business. My advice is to bet small drink big and eye up some bitches.
