I missed having ObamaCare because my medical insurance was provided by my employer and because I retired in August 2010 and became covered by Medicare. Ever since then, I have had a Regence Medicare Advantage insurance. Obamacare (Affordable Care Act) was designed for individuals who lacked other affordable health coverage, such as through an employer, Medicare, or in some cases Medicaid. Am I correct in that you do not have health insurance through your employer, and you do not qualify for Medicaid or Medicare because you are neither old enough, poor enough, or on SSD? Also, you are likely not a veteran and therefore do not qualify for VA medical insurance. Do you have preexisting conditions? What a bummer for you.

There is no longer a federal tax penalty for not having health insurance under the Affordable Care Act, as the individual mandate penalty was reduced to $0 as of 2019. -Guess you missed this change six years ago.

You mixed the tenses. Yes, it 'was' a money grab. But the bolded part should read, Anyone that could not afford health care got fined/taxed.

It was not a hidden agenda because the requirement for a federal penalty for not having health insurance was announced as part of the Affordable Care Act (ACA) in 2010, signed into law by President Obama. However, the penalty was not implemented until 2014. Hidden agenda's are not announced, they are hidden. Announced in 2010 and not enforced until 2014.  Four years is ample notice.

It would have with cost controls.  I think Obamacare was well intended.  Nobody will change my mind on that.  He was naive in thinking that insurance, pharma and doctors would be honest partners in this endeavor.  I've said this before.  If he wasn't naive, he was either stupid or complicit.  That man is not stupid.  He also let Lieberman kill the public option which would have lowered cost and forced competition.  With that said, this is year 5 of Trump's presidencies.  Where was/is the GOP plan?

I don't think anyone that becomes president is stupid. Nobody can bat 100% on the decisions they make, impossible to please everyone. I think Obamas intention was good, execution not so much.
  I can't remember the GOP making healthcare reform an issue lately. Have they? I haven't seen anything about it.

They've said since early in the 1st term, repeal and replace.  Now they just say repeal.
