i think happiness is the top achievment in life
rare is the man that is truly happy with his lot
I agree with that.
The environment is a big influence on the human psyche. It's hard to ignore the world around you when it's constantly telling you you're no good, or when you get to the point that you have everything, then you tell yourself something is missing.
What do you think of my view, that people in general have, in relation- the same kind of ways to fulfill the constant craving for happiness/satisfaction as how the planet is running on fossil fuels.
I mean that fossil fuels do give power resources, but they pollute this planet. And people constantly try to reach happiness with building their character by getting better in things, constantly having the need to do something new and better in order not to get bored or not to be miserable again, but if they stop with this process they will get depressed. In short, having the need to run all the time or get miserable. I wonder is that natural or just some established thought pattern that has nothing to do with the real thing.
To me it seems that conquring mountains will not give the ultimate satisfaction in all cases. Especially considering all the celebrity suicides, people who supposedly had everything going on for them.
