American Tv sets up and hypes interviews long before they air on the morning programs ( e.g. join reporter xzy in the 7 o'clock hour when she'll be at old country fair to discuss....). Also as a reporter, he, himself, would have a better idea than the average person on the types of time frames these stations use in getting stories on the air ( e.g. they hyped it at 6:15, so usually that means they'll be live in 30 - 45 min or so....).

It would be interesting to see if he had any friends at the station or if there is some bit of station protocol that might of tipped him off too by accident.

should be more control on Guns in the US. I understand it´s like embedded in the culture there, still when i see on tv guys with like 6 assault rifles at home and maybe 10 hand guns i think WTF. Don´t get me wrong if i lived in a hard area over their i would own a hand gun. Sad when these shootings happen.

If the government was really trying to convince people the reporter was shot, why wouldn't they enlist the use of a special effects person and at list have a few squibs explode to make it look like she was bleeding. Why wouldn't they have the cameraman continue recording so we could see all of the carnage if they really wanted to sell us? I mean if this is a big Hollywood like production with actors and the like, why is the SFX and direction so poor?

This was at Smith Mountain Lake. Rural, quiet area of Franklin County. Which is a rural area to begin with.
