It's not subjective. That segment of the economy was so large that its effects could never be entirely local. Slave labor was a massive part of southern industry and of course the south engaged in commerce with the north. Even outside of that, 50% of the country geographically is still a massive percentage. Even outside of that, the more relevant figure would still be the nearly 100% of African slaves that were affected. Even outside of that, I'm not sure how the percentage relates to my original post, especially since I only mentioned slavery to illustrate one specific point and it wasn't the main point of my post.
Your first post in this thread is this:
An admittedly not-too-thorough perusal reveals that most of your posts in this thread focus exclusively on race. Just a few pages ago, several posters (including myself) questioned if Wiggs was trolling, so whether or not he is genuinely racist where others are not is not something that is taken for granted by all. The notable thing is not that you go after him "more than others". Have you ever gone after ANYONE else at all? Like I said, you're entitled to respond to whatever you want to respond to, but it's completely transparent why there is exactly one member whose posts on race bother you. So trying to wrap it up with a nice humanist, unirace bow seems especially disingenuous.
I was simply responding to your argument, the point you made in reference to my slavery post. 100% of non-slave africans were not impacted, it's quite clearly subjective when we are extraploatint "effect" via commerce etc, particularly when what you are saying is conjecture.
Regardless, those who did not participate in slavery are not indebted or are in the concept of them "benefiting", the north traded with Canada who raped the indigenous populations, far worse then slavery, it was active genocide, whole tribes gone forever. Does the north owe what we pay to our aboriginals to this day, or at least a part of it? this is my point, it's subjective and silly, our concepts of countries is small, our perspective small.
Have I ever posted in a hateful manner towards a getbig member? that can't be a serious question?
If I am being disingenuous then it would reason that I am simply attacking one particular black member because I am racist.
