1000 years to get to another planet? If technology doesn't slow down, I'd imagine it could be accomplished in less than 100 years if it's not already been done and we just don't know about it...

Technology is not there.  Speed of light travel will be necessary... which IMO is not attainable during the next 1000 years, perhaps 10,000.

Who needs a new planet? Planetary living is for primitives. Humans require a future the turns us into a space faring race, traveling the Universe in gigantic artificial structures.

That would ruin your next 50 thousands years. To say nothing of extinction events from ordinary sized meteors, asteroids, and comets striking the planet.

Trying to find another planet to live on, is short sighted thinking.
