Hey, NELSON! Thanks for what ya said above .... so this may be as good a spot as any to tell this short story .....
Once upon a time not too long ago I was at the Firehouse having lunch and happened to meet Tony Breznik who was most impressive due to his funny haircut and almost contest ready condition.
During that initial meeting I recommended that he get some magazine coverage before he flew back home .
But he was somewhat new to the bodybuilding scene and had no idea about whom to contact.
So I immediately made a cell-phone-call to Gene and asked if he could stop by to see this new kid on the block and arrangements were made to meet at Gold's Venice within the hour.
So Gene showed up and after the normal "Howdy-doos" he said something like , "Damn! I had no idea this guy would be this great!"
So he took his cell phone and made an immediate call to John Balik who at that time owned IronMan Magazine to let him know that we would be in his office within the hour.
So we arrive at the IronMan Magazine office and everyone (including John and Mike) wee impressed and they asked Tony, "How long would it take you to be in contest condition?"
Tony says, "Give me five days!".
So five days later we show up on the beach beneath the approach to LAX for an early morning photo shoot .... but it's to damn foggy, iso we pack up and head to the office studio and proceed with a six hour (could have been 4) photo session.
And Tony got the cover shot if I recall correctly and a four page spread in one of the upcoming issues.
Thanks to Gene and John and Mike and that great staff in MM office .... and maybe even to myself of course.
Now I'll have to see if Tony is still into bodybuilding competition or what the heck he is now doing? He could possibly ever be back to hockey.
Anyway .... Thank you, Gene!
TONY's funny haircut .....
And thanks again, Nelson!
