If you eat right, workout hard and get proper rest you can put off the effects of old age by at least 20-30 years.  Most people do not believe I am 51 years old.  I suppose I'll eventually get on TRT, but I'm going to wait as long as possible, until it's absolutely necessary.

100% spot on agree.

Theres a guy at my gym who's 88 years old, the guy is in incredible shape, former military guy, eats very healthy his whole life, was big into the Jack Lalane juicing days, he busted out 35 strict pushups yesterday, the whole gym was watching, I'm going to film him next week when he does them again. If you eat right, exercise regularly, keep stress to a minimum, and surround yourself with positive people you can age very well.

Wow. I'm a big proponent of threads just going in whatever direction they're meant to go, but I reread my opening post several times and i'm still surprised this turned out to be a "you can still be fit in your 30s/40s/50s" thread.   :D ??? :D ???

In two weeks I’ll be 48. Don’t feel anything over 30, tops.

Never been drunk (maybe drank one beer in my entire life); never smoked a cigarette; never used any rec drug of any kind; been intensely weight training since age 15 (still progressing in strength); have always gotten eight hours (or damn near) each night; have parents 80 years of age and still rockin’.

Strong, resilient Viking genetics.

I wish I could say that never been drunk. lool. What I'm saying is that takes a guy super strong emotionally to not fall in any trap on this life. Never smoked cigs as well, but I'm booze free now , and it sucks, not a week goes by without thinking of having a few shots..

is that every bump and lump becomes a cause for concern. 5-10 years ago, if i got some sort of bump on my neck or in my armpit, I wouldn't really think twice. Now, when something like that happens, I'm on webmd for the entire morning trying to convince myself not to make a doctor's appointment.

u fear death very much, lucky us  ::)

You look about  mid-60s, though.  So, congrats. You're at least breaking even.

Yea, but at least we can enter "Masters" competitions. 18yrs ago I never wouldve thought I'd be considering a "masters" competition. (Just realized 18+18=36... Wtf. I'm old enough to be a grandfather, if my oldest daughter [be19 this year] has a baby. What. The. Fuck. ?! How'd that happen?)

almost 61, feel like a young kid still. oldest guy in my gym, working out with a 29 year old juiced up stud. most days I can still kick his ass because of the pace I keep. he goes I go, no rest between sets. my pace kills guys. (lol)
but I lifted like this for years, 50 minutes for my workout. drenched in sweat. of course the juiced up kid lifts more than me on most lifts, but on some lifts I can kick his ass.

TRT is the answer boys. I always happy, always with a song in my head, smiling, laughing busting balls.

quit drinking about three months ago, only a 4 ounce glass of red wine every other day. best think I have done for myself.

At 55 I’m training just as hard if not harder than I was when I was in my 20’s just not nearly as heavy and my recovery isn’t that far off. I’ve been on and off gear since I was in my late teens just came off last week until April. Blood work has always been good with the exception of hereditary elevated cholesterol but never had to take meds for it. Granted, I was blessed with good family genetics, no cancers, no heart disease and longevity on the moms side.

But I feel like shit when I come off.

I thought it was 35. A counselor at my last rehab (nov'16) said i needed a goal& I should compete in a Masters Physique show following my bday a cpl months away, as I was turning 35 Jan 2017. I'd completely forgotten about masters divisions at the time.

(This girl also competed in physique shows. Fucken gorgeous chic who looked like a curved/thicker Gina Allioti. Could have been her twin fucking sister... same face, same smile, same dimples, same eyes, and same dark super curly, spiral-curled hair. Just thicker thighs, rounder ads, bigger blobs, and thicker torse/shoulders/arms (she was a physique girl after all, not figure or bikini.)

I have a cancer phobia (and basically health anxiety), so I tend to go to the doctor a lot if I feel or think I have something.

I felt a bump on the side of my gum and went to the oral surgeon and it turned out to be nothing.

I likely have "Illness Anxiety Disorder."

Im pretty much just waiting for the day that I get cancer.

I get a little paranoid about health. Dad died back in 1985 at age 47 (diabetes, heart disease, leg amputated, etc).
Brother died last AUG age 47 of cancer. Dad's 9 siblings all died before age 50 (heart attacks, cancer), except for 2 of them.

Ma's family all lived well into their 90's (her parents, aunts, etc) so I have 1/2 a chance. At least I made it to 51 so far  :D
At least my colonoscopy just came up clean. Currently waiting on blood test results for Lynch Syndrome, basically its a marker for those prone to colon cancer. My sister tested positive, hopefully I dont, otherwise my kids will need to be checked, fun getting old :)
