John Goodman's Constitution.
« on: May 21, 2018, 05:42:29 PM »
John will be 66 next month...he stated in an interview with David Letterman that his maximum body weight was 451-lb, at 6'3.  That exceeds the maximum weight of Greg Kovacs, and even having thinned down now, he is still around the 300-lb mark.  It's possible that he had the stomach stapling surgery done, but I don't know.

John also admits to a long history of alcoholism, and in the second video below [which is part 2 of 2 of the interview], he admits to having used cocaine in the 1980s, which allowed him to drink alcohol for longer during the same period he was using cocaine.

I'm fascinated by this - especially given that John is an extremely booked, extremely active actor.  So it's not like he's sitting around - he's expending cognitive energy memorizing scripts, he is waking up early in the morning to be on the set...

Does anyone have any thoughts on this?  I am extremely impressed with John's constitution.

When I saw the trailer, I feared for his health.  How is it possible to be over 60 looking like that, and with that history of drugs, alcohol, and morbid obesity, and to not be ridden with cancer and heart disease?

Even if he dies tomorrow - amazing genetics.

He really dials it in when it matters ... on the posing dais.

Fortress,

As a person with a rich experience in the industry, and as someone who met Greg Kovacs personally, what do you make of Goodman's morbid obesity, and the fact that he has so far lived over 20 years longer than Kovacs?

Given that John has generally been 350-lb to 400-lb - and stated in a Letterman interview that his maximum weight was 451-lb, and lowest [my guess] would be his current weight of around 300-lb...

...how much longer do you think he has?  He is turning 66 next month.

I'm just surprised that he is still alive.  I don't really understand it.

He's working with Roseanne again so I don't think he has much longer left. Dead by season 2.

Simple: genetics

As you say.

Think about the stresses on his physical entirety.

John’s just a (real) tough guy.

He's an American citizen,  therefore his constitution is the same one that all Americans live under.

Hope this helps Matt, I know thunder bay is different because it's not in the United States.

Did he sleep in that suit in a van down by the river after stealing it from someone 2" taller and slightly thinner?  John it's like you're not even trying.

John's constitution is made up of six elements: oxygen, carbon, hydrogen, nitrogen, calcium, and phosphorus.

Like Fortney said, genetics is the key. We all know that person who lived to 90, smoked, drank, ate like shite.
Then the health conscious one's who die by mid 50's. (Like a buddy did last week at 54, after being diagnosed w/ bile-dict cancer, dead 6 months later).

Lifted his whole life, stay very fit/thin, etc... Weird... Genetix baby...

He might be alive but he is a wreck. He talks and walks like an old man. What good is it to live to 80 if you are weak and sickly for 30 years?

I fear for Matt's mental health.

As of now, you probably should.  :-\

One of the 14 mothers of my 7 children wants $3,000 a month.  It's been very stressful.

If I felt my mental health breaking, I would likely manage it with opiates, non-prescribed.  I'm not going to take a toxic SSRI or anything else - opiates are the only drug fit for my constitution.  All the rest suck.

I'm also thinking of getting back into shape - and was even thinking of fast-tracking that with some Dianabol.  But I also want to conceive another baby before the new year, so don't want to affect my reproductive system in a negative way.  My sperm count is 1.162 billion though - I shoot Peter North level loads.  ;D

I enjoy reading NelsonMuntz' stories, especially about his history - and especially because he is Canadian.

I swear, in 2004, someone on MuscleMayhem posted a thread asking if he was HotOrNot, and someone said "Where is Milhouse?" [Nelson's Mayhem handle].  The very next post to follow was Milhouse asking "Could that watch get any cheaper?"  ;D

I couldn't stop laughing.

Also, regarding his old drug stories - my opinion is that opiates are intended for long-term daily use, and are not particularly organ toxic.  Whatever cognitive damage they cause is minimal IMO, but it may depend in part on the individual.  I believe that human beings evolved with both alcohol and with poppies - but I think my ancestors spent more of their time using opiates, as my constitution for them is perfect.  Cocaine is adulterated garbage IMO [even "the best" stuff available in my part of Canada], and can't even actually be called cocaine.

I have a choice in life - either I can use opiates from time to time or I can use nothing.  No other drug is suitable for my constitution.  So I literally have to pick between abstinence or some opiate consumption schedule.

Not that there is anything wrong with abstinence, despite how often things like abstinence-only programs get made fun of.

Lastly, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE DO NOT TAKE THIS THREAD AS CONDONING OPIATE USE.

Some can take them without issues regarding addiction or overdose - others can't.  It all depends on the individual.

Just like how, good or bad, my body does not want me to be 200-lb or heavier.  It is what it is.
