Speaking of cars, would any of you have any feedback on the Tesla?

Particularly, the model 3..

Corvette or nothing.

I own a Z06 that will blow the doors off of any HellCat Challenger, Demon, Hellcat Redeye etc...  With my mods I am over 1000 Hp.  You can hear the thing from a mile away.  8)

Plus I can corner like a champ, something the Challenger cannot do.

Make sure you get some headers, take the cats off, get aftermarket exhaust, bigger cam and go from there.

At the very least take the cats off and get new exhaust.  That thing is whisper quiet.

Chrysler has a car called the "200" that looks EXACTLY like it as do many other manufacturers.  Tesla just look like shit in my opinion.  Nothing to them style wise.  You could do better for the money I think.

It's a fun toy no doubt, but buying a new car is the worst investment you can make.  Depreciates 20% as soon as you drive it off the lot.  The novelty wears off quick.  Unless you are very wealthy, buy a used car.  There are some very nice ones out there.

I have a 2007 Honda Accord.  I bought it used in 2010.  Not because I couldn't afford a new one, but because I'm a cheap mo-fo.  Let someone else eat the depreciation.  Since 2010, the total maintenance and repairs has been less than $1500.  I use synthetic oil.  Haven't had a major problem with it yet.  Honda's are great cars.

Hybrid or electric engine?

When I was in my 20's and early 30's I actually liked cars with monster engines. Now, I don't mind something quiet. Something that feels as if you are gliding on the road and with amazing gas-mileage or electric conversion to miles.

What do you drive?

model 3 is a POS. paint quality like a 90's GM car, bumpers fall off when it rains, Electrical problems like it is a ford, fit and finish issues, sunroof problems, etc.
I would buy the model s, or wait a while until the quality hopefully gets better.
Do you want one because of status or electric? If you want an electric car, a Honda Clarity of even an e-golf are better buys.

For years, my favorite drive was a Lexus (any model). It always felt as if I was hovering/floating in air. About a year ago, I rented a Ford Fusion 2018 model and it drove just like that of a Lexus and had both gas and electric engine. The electric engine gave me a shit load of miles before even converting to gas.

A buddy of mine has a Tesla. He paid about $64K for it. Says that it drives incredibly well and the hands-free driving option is a thing of beauty, plus it's great for the environment.

Not so much about status, more about functionality and cost savings in the long run.

Terribly wrong. I wouldn't do it yet, Tesla always seems to be on the verge of disappearing. But hey, I drive a Silverado 4x4, what do I know? ;D

Post a pic of you standing in front of and sitting in your Vette. And you might as well show what's under the hood as well.

I just watched a review on the Model 3 a few weeks ago by a reviewer that I think is pretty fair and knowledgeable on all the products he reviews. In my experience, everyone who says that it's a piece of crap have never driven one let alone owned one. I was never a fan of electric cars but I would definintely consider this one. It's not insanely expensive and Hawaii is ideal for electric cars because you just don't drive very far because you can't.

The sticker is $54,410 with all the options.

I'm buying it at just over $37K with just under 3K miles on it. I really think the depreciation was done already.

Long day yesterday. Got up at 3:45 am to catch a 6am flight to Houston. Ubered to the dealership in League City and started the process at 9am. By 10:30 am I was on the rode back to Tampa. Made it home at 3:30am. Long drive but I really enjoyed driving it. Plenty of power but controlled. All the bells and whistles like adaptive Cruise control made the drive easier. Loved the 18 speaker Harman Kardon system. Drizzled most of the way once I got into Louisiana.

I'm not sure they are doing it to make money. They are very, very rich to begin with. I think they just love cars. I have a friend that just love Jordans. I had no idea there was a whole culture around Jordan shoes. They have conventions, forums, talk about shoes, wait in line overnight to by the latest, he can look at a Jordan and give you the whole story behind that particular brand of shoes. Most of the shoes he buys he's only worn once or twice and they cost hundreds of dollars. Just collects them. Has thousands of dollars worth of shoes in his closet.

I done the sneaker reseller thing back in the day. You can make quick money if you know what you're doing or have a hook up. You don't have to wait years for a profit like cars. Nowadays it is a lot harder with hyper beasts, apps, huge competition, and flooding of the market.
