Here's the thing though OMR...she grew up in a $900,000 home, was a science fair winner in h.s. IIRC, and went to one of the most well-known schools in the country.  Now, I know from reading the property tax thread here recently that a $900+K home isn't much these days in NY.....but that's what she grew up in.  She told people her mom was a maid and cleaned homes for a living.  Her mom says she did not...it was AOC's grandma that cleaned houses.  Her father was a fairly successful businessman.  She was far from poor, and she is not the A-OC from the B-Lock that she portrays.

We remember the millennial generation; they're the ones that the Republicans pray stay home at election time so that they can win? I'm not saying that she will be president in 2021 but I'm saying if we don't think she'll have an audience who listen to her in future election cycles we're fooling ourselves. And I would suggest that Pelosi and all are being fools, they think they can take advantage of all of these poorly functionally educated far left millennials to vote for them while not giving them what they want or explaining why its dumb. That works until they have some of these freshman Democrats who can act as leaders and figureheads. How many revolutions happened because the old guard thought they could keep the stupid young punks in their place? What does Pelosi and company do when they realize that their base in large part actually want an ill defined socialism, believe in destroying their perceived enemies on the right by any means, and will not vote for the establishment Democrats if they don't deliver on all this? Does anyone think that the Democratic establishment will behave honorably and lose with dignity? Or will they say and do whatever they need to in order to stay in power? Note the Green Deal crap is blathering nonsense and every serious candidate for the Democratic nomination has embraced it. And if they beat a weakened Trump will feel they have to enact at least some of it if they want to get elected for a second term. That's what we're facing."

Pretty far-fetched. She won her election because her opponent was an old-school white Irish politician in an area that had changing demographics to the point of a Hispanic majority. I’ll give her credit for being in the right place at the right time.
